Anyone else getting redirects that won't let you get back to the forum ?
This is on an android phone.
I have to close the browser and re-open, then browse back to the forum.
Some times it just happens, other te it happens when clicking a thumbs up.
Thanks.
Yes, I have been getting notice that I have won an Amazon Gift Certificate, etc.
I have found that a quick double tap on the Android back button can me out if it.
Yep, I've gotten those too. This isn't the only forum it happens on to me, so guessing there's some sort of malicious advertiser?
Glad I'm not the only one it's been happening to.
I've been getting the Amazon thing. Sometimes the back button will kill it, sometimes it requires closing the browser and starting over.
Yes Android as well. Mines a Walmart gift card thingie. I just close out and reopen GRM. Thought it was on my end.
Thanks for posting this, we have been trying to determine which ads are doing the redirects. The next time it happens, please grab a link from the page it redirects you to an post it here. That may help us to block the offending ads.

Me too. Thought i had virus
I have had this issue as well on my android phone. I thought I had accidently clicked on an ad the first time it happened.
I also get the Amazon re-direct when I use my Android phone. Never seen it on my company laptop, but it blocks most things anyway.
If it helps at all, the redirect appears to always go to CloudFront. I'll try and snag the url next time it happens to me.
Along these lines - does the forum site "see" the advertisement code at all, or is the Google ad service a black box from the perspective of the site code? If the former, perhaps a blanket block of any ad that contains the string "CloudFront" in the ad code might be feasible?

I just got one that was the "your phone has a virus and is heavily damaged, please click this link and enter your credit card information here, etc". That really needs to be fixed as soon as possible, it's not acceptable for a website like this.
Possibly somewhat related, on my desktop I’ve had much higher processor and memory utilization on the GRM website than usual for the last month or so. And sometimes slower performance on the tablet. I’ve been chalking it up to a crappy ad script...
Me too me too! For the last couple weeks. I've gotten the Amazon thing and the Wal-Mart thing. I have an older Android phone.
Awesome guys, thanks for the info and links! I have alerted the webmaster.

We were asked to not run adblock here and I choose not to. However if this continues I may as it's the only site I have an issue with.
