Wonder if Rev's Al and JJ (he who admitted to in spitting in white folks food) and the "peaceful protesters" have given thought to the fact that in exercising their chosen method of dissent, they have in fact validated the opinions of every whacked out, neo-nazi, Aryan, KKK member. They have in fact demonstrated that they are Michael Brown, they are exhibiting the same lack of character that he did.

I wonder if during conjugal visits Charlie is all fired up with Helter Skelter "I told you so" talk while bangin' the new squeeze.
I blame red number 5 for civil unrest. It always gave my anus no rest after I drank some. So. Stands to reason, it is responsible for the nations ills.
In reply to Fueled by Caffeine:
Why you gotta play Johnny Five that way?
In reply to Giant Purple Snorklewacker:
He said "Red Five"
I assume he gets the blame because he brought down the empire?

He also said...

Which, for whatever reason, makes me laugh and laugh.

EGAD!
Out of curiosity, I asked my 5 and 6 year old kids what would happen if they punched a police officer in the face and tried to take his gun. They both said that they would get shot. I didn't think it was a hard concept to grasp, and 18 years is more than enough time to learn it. In a way, I think the push towards less lethal methods and increased restraint may have increased Michael Brown's chances of getting shot. According to the grand jury report, he taunted the officer, telling him that he won't shoot him. If the suspects thinks that there is some sort of chain of tactics the officer must go through before it gets to lethal, they may be more emboldened. If you keep it simple- attack a cop, get shot- that may make some think twice and save themselves.
There's people here in Tucson protesting. I assume they're doing it because of what's happening in Ferguson but the cause-heads and social justice warriors here only do things as followers. Clogging up downtown streets at 12:30 am on a Tuesday in a city 1400 miles from the event you're "offended" by is not protesting, its throwing a hissy fit.

Tasers don't always work. I have deployed mine twice and both times they knocked the subject down but did not incapacitate them as advertised. Both times I had to "go hands on" and subdue the subject physically. They are a great tool but have no place in a life threatening situation.
The most important thing is going home to my family at the end of my shift. If I find myself in a situation where I am trying to stop a robbery suspect and they attack me and try to take my weapon I won't be pulling a taser on them. That is a ludicrous proposition.
As far as lapel cams are concerned, I am torn... On one hand I say bring it on, it would be great to show people how disrespectful, deceitful, and nasty people can be. It is hard to fathom until you wear a vest everyday and step into peoples lives when they are at their worst.
On the other hand a camera doesn't see everything. You can't see what is going on in the periphery, and you can't see the suspect tense his arm when you attempt to cuff him. Little details like that can be important in understanding a dynamic situation as it evolves.
Honestly people film me all the time at work, its part of the job. If you do your job correctly, treat people with respect and follow the rules your fine.

I think that you put too much faith in people having a moral compass. It seems the underlying theme is that all people use logic or reason to make the decisions they make. That is a major flaw in your thought process.
This. I spend most of my day at work standing in a bus stop often in questionable areas. Several people felt the need to tell me to be careful but if anything happens to me it's not personal, just sometimes things have to happen and I should be ok with it.
CCL/CCW?
We can't carry at work. Even if I could the only people that qualify for permits in NYC are celebrities, their body guards, and diamond dealers.

Thank you for your service, sir. Great to have another perspective from those in the line.
They tried to close all the bridges and tunnels at one point. The NYPD is pretty much letting it go on as long as it doesn't get destructive and close down too many roads.
Guess they were trying to shutdown the bridges in Portland last night with the crowds. Throwing a hissy fit and gumming up the works for hard working people is a E36 M3ty move. Most of these people more than likely have no idea of what actually happened they just see it as an excuse to stir E36 M3 up.

Protestors got run over in two separate incidents in Minneapolis yesterday for trying to close roads down. Some days, I love this state.

Someone took the previous funny and added something to it....possibly explaining it a bit further for idiots.
Apparently there's no looters in Ferguson, MO. Just a lot of undocumented shoppers.

and isnt non-lethal much more useful controlling a situation happening in front of you than it is happening TO you?

About the only thing its somewhat good for.

That's the truth, at least until the taser gets really wet or you fall on it wrestling with someone.
