Two packages ship on Monday. One leaves from Illinois, one from Ohio. Illinois package ships 2-day via UPS. Ohio package ships 2-day via USPS. I got the Ohio package (USPS) first thing this morning. Did not receive IL package.

Tracking info. says it left IL, arrived in Indianapolis yesterday at 4AM, and is now still sitting there due to "Adverse weather conditions." Cause to be pissed or are the roads really that bad? Just trying to be informed before I call and read someone the riot act.

I'm about 40 miles north and 120 miles west of Indianapolis. There are still parts of the interstates that are closed here (as of 2:00PM).

In my industry most all of the units ship out of Indianapolis. For two days now we have been informing customers of expected shipping delays.
I point this out so that you just do not think the IN people are making it up.

Indy did get hit with a couple inches of ice, so road condition may just be that bad. An hour northwest of Indy where I'm at the roads are closed. and we got off fairly lucky. North towards Chicago where they actually know how to deal with the snow roads are still pretty iffy.

Just found this website. I'd hold out on calling and complaining for a day or two.

In reply to poopshovel:

I've read various reports of major icing across the state, followed by intense cold temps. The snowfall probably slowed things down, but the ice is a beotch.

Think of home a week or so ago, but on steroids. Then drink a beer, calm down and keep checking on the tracking number.

Monday was pretty much clear here in Columbus, the ice/snow started in the evening.

Indy got hit pretty bad. A friend of mine posted pic this morning of the sheet of ice that had encompassed his Jeep. The sheet that he broke off of the hood was almost an inch and a half think.

I got stuck in my subdivision. Enough hard pack snow under the car combined with the 3/4" of ice underneath made for a no-go situation

I heard them talking to INDOT on the news this morning and they said the roads have been pretty clear except for rural state roads and such, so it should be ok for UPS.

Talked to a couple guys in our Indy office this morning & most things shut down in the city yesterday afternoon & today. I also know we didn't have any mail delivery here today because the mail truck didn't make it from Indy.

Well over half of the city was shut down the last 2-2.5 days. Weather was/is pretty bad. The roads were downright scary for at least a day and a half.

Delays are real.

mANY Counties (including mine) are closed. No one moves unless you're emergency personnel. I have 3 inches of ice covered in 3 inches of snow.... I don't care how you look at it... it sucks. Plus it's 9* outside.

Don't know what the winds are like there, but UPS tends to tell their drivers to pull over and park if winds are over 45MPH. This is from an aquaintance that drives OTR for UPS. Even if the roads are clear, this can mess things up.
