Have you picked your route yet? Knowing what roads you're taking can help us suggest some stuff.

If you are going through Tn,........ in Nashville...the Lane Museum, of course. In Knoxville, actually, at exit 407 on I-40 EAST of Knoxville, there is another museum of sorts (the name escapes me at the moment) and for that matter, there is a "store" called Toys for Big Boys" on I-40...I THINK at exit 350ish. On I-81 there is another "museum" of Muscle/Race cars....I THINK about 1 or 2 hours NORTH of the Va.-Tn. border.

I haven't driven much through North or South Carolina, except on I-95, in the last 20-25 years. I did drive I-95 a year ago, and if you or your friends dig "kitsch", you MIGHT want to stop at South of the Border. It was actually TACKIER-BETTER when it leaned more towards tourist trap in the 70s....I'm not sure what it's like now.

Pedro sez - not much has changed at South of the Border, a living museum dedicated to kitsch and amateur pyrotechnics.
