I think it needs some gravel blowing up out of the fan

Has crossed my mind but not sure how I'd do that.
Tonight I had to make a rerouted serpentine belt cause there is no AC or air pump on this car. That was fun. Just squint when you finally look at it so the belt looks legit. Pics to come. Added the plexiglass divider and snow mobile engine exhaust.
On to hood number 2. I have at least two more if needed!
These molds are scale too thick. Hopefully looks better once painted. I fortunately the engine sits low in the chassis and doesn't pop above the hood like the 1:1 car.

I make a habit of tapering the edges of any panel edge like your hood hole. It disguises the always greater thickness pretty well. I bet that engine isn't just too low. Measure carefully and you will find it is small everywhere. This is universal, as the engine space is small from the inability of making panels scale thickness.

Having seen that car up close, I just wanna say you are nailing it!
I'll admit, it wasn't one of my favorite Challenge cars, but I definitely approve of your effort!!

The engine and trans in the kit is also woefully incorrect. It comes with an attached 4 speed, but the interior replicates an auto trans shifter (which matches the ChEaparral). There's a mechanical fuel pump. For a fuel injected car! And so on.
So close. Got to deal with the blemish on the door. Install the casters. Windshield. Front lights. Paint side markers. And figure out how to reproduce the graphics.

If you have clear pics from straight-on, I can print them at home.

I can send you what they sent me. Do you have a GRM challenge panel? Email geodotLdotrooney(at)gmail. Can't remember your email. Thought I had it.
All done save for the decals. Thanks Javelin for offering to make a set. Will class is up for sure.
I have a video (not great) that I'll post too.
You'll need to log in to post.
