I hope she finds some peace. I know she has had a hard go of it these last few decades. She was amazing in the Shining; nobody could have played that role as well as she did. Kubrick made her life hell but she put on one incredible performance.
She was quite beautiful when Hollywood wasn't trying to make her into a weirdo.
The older THR story had some publicity stills from her earlier work, which I'll have to track down now. This is presumably from 'Nashville', which I've never seen.
That's a look, for sure, but she has no problem pulling it off.
I will always remember as being perfectly cast as Oive Oyl:
I remember seeing how she was very recently and thinking that we as a society should really do a better job of taking care of each other. She gave us a huge piece of herself and now (then) she's basically forgotten, like some used up shoes. Felt kinda E36 M3ty seeing that.
I liked her role in Brewster McCloud. She drove a Plymouth Road Runner.

I liked her in Roxanne, though no one else could make Olive Oyl sexy.

I believe I read that the scene with the bat from The Shining had 127 takes. That movie really took a lot out of her.
