I was just gonna say "I've got the gist of Atlas Shrugged already," then I saw the author's bio.
It's also worth mentioning that the Forbes site lets anyone run their blog on it, like Wordpress, this article being an example of one such blog.
This thread's getting a lot of calls for a lock, so if it makes you feel any better, I think it may have sickened me more than the story about the aspiring pedo-cannibal. So there's your lulz.

I didn't even read the article. It's been made pretty plain time and time again that nobody really likes having conversations like this on this forum.
Yet they continue.
Oh no! Somebody thinks having hard working successful people in your society is a good thing.
You guys fight about it. I'm going to go swim in my money pool in the basement. (Because I learned everything I know about how rich people behave by watching scrooge mcduck)
Ayn Rand was a short-sighted, E36 M3ty fiction writer who's stories had such loopholes as ... where does the food come from - oh, right... the farmers don't starve. They starve the shiny happy people. Book over.
Certainly not quite the thinker her disciples give her credit for. Everyone older than 14 who isn't a disciple is probably aware of that... but hey... why not write an inflammatory article to get the Proles all fired up!
FWIW, I hate the term "Give Back" too. On that whole thingand the IRS as an abomination, I am totally on board. But... quoting Ayn Rand? Instant fail.
Ayn Rand was a sociopath who wrote books featuring characters that had her twisted morality. How her writings (and rantings - see galtse.cx) - and others based on her ideas - make for an authoritative argument, I'll never know.
The 99 already give to the 1, it's called consumption of stuff.
Other than that, the morality is that we should all contribute reasonably equal part of our income to pay for our society's existance. Assuming a nominal amount that one is required to survive on.
I love that dipE36 M3s that write drivel like this are completely oblivious to the fact that are most likely in the top 5% income of the world's population and have never been overseas, let alone in a third world country. What are they doing to give back to starving Africans, huh?!?
This is one of those topics where I immediately know my position and therefore don't even bother saying anything.
Although I did read it with an open mind, just like I read Atlas Shrugged.
Crap, I said something.
