Songs of my youth...

Are now being played on the classic hits station. (K-HITS) I'm torn between thinking this is awesome and being very very scared.

He's 26! I got sox that are 26!!!

I'm only 22, but the average age of my favorite artists is dead.

It's horrific to realize that some of the original hard core punk albums (Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies, etc) that I rode my Dogtown skateboard to the record store to buy, are now 30-35 years old, and original Dogtown decks are now selling for $500 on ebay as vintage collectables

I hardly ever hear songs of my youth on the radio.

Of course, the harpsichord has waned in popularity....

Getting old is inevitable, and the battle is outright futile, but I will fight and I will resist. I will also listen to K-HITS more often.

$500 is cheap. the early Powell Peralta, Santa Cruz, SMA stuff and even later decks from World Industries are well into thousands and Those records aren't cheap either.

Somewhere I still have a mint Dogtown sweatshirt. And it's not like I preserved it--that thing wore like iron.

Speaking of old-school decks, Mike Palm signed my Vision Agent Orange deck. No, it's not for sale.

I've still got an old Alva deck that I got new. And it's almost modern looking compared to the Gator and Zorlac I had before that. Does that make me old?

I have heard more than one Beatles song on Muzak. Thank dog no Pink Floyd- yet.

Every time I think that new music has really gone downhill I remember that the number 1 song of the year I turned 17 was Muskrat Love by The Captain and Tennille.

Some of my favorite music doesn't have a radio station. Music I listened to as a kid is now "classic" country. I'm only 30.

also I blurred this thread and the socks with sandals thread and thought for a second this was a "socks of my youth" thread and went WTF.

Reading disability. I do that all the time. Read things slowly or you'll be terribly confused especially in the many directions this thread has gone.

Know what you mean. I fell in love with Jensen Healeys when I was in HS, now that I have one it qualifies for collector car insurance and antique auto plates.

It will be 38 years old in November of this year.

Here it's 1987 (25 years old). So I've seen IROC's with antique plates. And the songs of my youth are all on "Eighties on Eight!" on SirusXM.

I used to work 3rd shift at meijer doing planograms, I E36 M3 you not, one time at 3am they played Comfortably Numb on the muzak. One of the most depressing moments of my life.

haha i'm waiting till next year to register my s10 so it can go though as a classic or antique... and I can avoid smoging it...

in 3 more years my other cars all qualify as antique/classic status...

I tend to listen to sports talk radio most of the time, but sometimes I'll flip my satellite radio to 80's on 8. It's like a time warp for me. Back in those days, I had a radio with me at all times.

My kids, especially my 5yr old daughter, like music. They tend to listen to the modern "pop" station. A lot of the new songs they play have such as 80's sound to them, I guess it all goes in cycles. There's even one song where the singer sounds exactly like Sting.

The BeeGees ruled the airwaves when I was a young lad. Disco fever was rampant! Fortunately, a short time later, we were rescued by The Cars, The Police, and The Clash.

I had decks signed by Tony Hawk (his first model ever released) Cabellero, Hosoi and a few others. Broke every one and tossed them. Doh!

Hated that Bonite crap!

My brother had an original wooden Burton Snowboard, ridden like 2 times, and left in the attic. Mom sold it at a garage sale for $3. Double Doh!
