Having a satisfying work life has value to it. You need to determine if that aspect has more or less than $5000 in value.
"I've been offered an opportunity to do similar work for $x more, but I enjoy working here. I feel that my work adds value to your organization. Is there an opportunity to bring my earnings in line with what I feel that I am contributing to the operation?"

I could work 80 hour weeks and be a real ass to work for and double my income.
