I thought I'd hit that before.... but damn this is a good reminder. Saturday had a great time putting a couple hundred miles on the bike with a friend. Towards the end, my shoulder started to get achy. No suprise, I haven't ridden the bike more than 20 miles at a time in a long time.
Kicker was yesterday.... the lattice under the deck had come loose and broken from all the crazy winds we get. No problem... I had a plan. The bottoms were loose before on the inside allowing the wind to push them inwards, breaking the plastci at the screws. No problem, we line the inside with these concrete blocks we have (tons of them the wife collected) and line the outside as well. I just need to crawl under the deck and move these 40-50lb blocks into place.
I'm paying for it today. Thankfully I'm working from home today.... not sure I'd make it at work!
The kicker for me... I can't use the Aleve that I used to that works so well. NSAIDS block my depression meds so I have to take tylenol.... and that just doesn't work as well.

The moment I realized I'm not 25 anymore happened many, many moments ago.

This is why I play soccer against 25 year olds on Monday nights. The weekly reminder keeps you from getting blindsided so bad later.
Granted I'm only 10 years removed, but I think that's enough perspective to see which way this road is going.
Oh E36 M3!! You mean I'm not 25!! What a downer.

For real? An ER doc told me to stay away from NSAIDs anywho (cause of Crohn's), so I guess it doesn't matter too much, but Celebrex really did the trick on my sore shoulder years ago.

I'm closing in on 20 years removed. My mind still thinks these are good ideas. My body tells my mind it's batE36 M3 crazy.
I turned 30 this year. My body decided to give me a big middle finger and my appendix burst in glorious fashion landing me in the hospital for 5 days and still recovering a month later.

yeah, I found it out the hard way. We had a week of oppressive humidity/heat (for Indiana, we're not south FL here) and was taking Aleve twice a day for over a week. It takes about 4-5 days for me to come off the depression meds and by that Friday I was a wreck. couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. Happened to catch the commercial on late night tv that night that was my depression med, and saw that it said not to take NSAIDS. Checked the bottle and yep... wrong. A little searching showed that they can effectively block the dep meds from doing what they need to do, basically making the pill ineffective. Stopped taking Aleve, 3 days later I'm back to normal.
I learned my lesson.... check for drug interactions.

30 was when I developed allergies. That was a fun moment. 35 was when my body started making cholesterol from thin air. "Oh, you ate a salad? How nice, lets make something bad for you from it"
I realized I wasn't 25 years old anymore about 30 years ago. I've now forgotten what 25 ever felt like.

I think I remember what it was like.
I've had E36 M3ty knees since I was 15. I'm not sure how to compute the logic as I was older than 25 by the time I was 18.

Mrs SVreX was feeling frisky this morning?
Saw a dollar bill on the ground, asked a guy standing there "Is that yours?"
Could be, but I'm not bending way the hell down there for a dollar.
Yikes!
I am fighting sciatica, been in pain for half a week so far. This is the second bout this year.
I have never weighed over 160, but have a bit of a noticable beer gut forming. (still weigh 153ish)
Some combination of the 2 hours of bus riding every day, my desk job, lack of excersize, and being 32 is kicking my ass.
you guys sound like the people I work with. Everyone is falling apart. Other than Crohns since I was 14 and I messed my shoulder up at 18, I am still good to go at almost 47
I realize Im not 25 anymore every time I get on my BMX bike.
Every. Time.
I'll be ten years removed this month. Got a good reminder earlier this year when I threw my back out- not horribly, but enough that I couldn't twist suddenly for about a month without bigtime pain. How did I do this, you ask?
I sneezed while sitting in my office chair.
That's all it took.
I understand what you are saying. My weekend project was installing an egress window. An Egress window that required a 5' x 4' x 40" pit to be dug out by hand.
You know you're getting old when you injure yourself in your sleep.
In reply to Bobzilla:
I'm waiting for that. I've battled weight for a long time, I'm desperately trying to get healthy while I have a fighting chance.
I was wearing a knee brace by age 19, dealing with foot pain at 21. I dont think i ever actually felt 25. Im 30 now and feel about 50 every morning. Nsaid's are how i manage to survive work every day.
