If you're still having cold weather issues, I'll ask at the running shops here in Fairbanks what they suggest. When I ran back in high school, I usually just ran in shorts even below freezing to keep from overheating, so I'm probably not much help.

Then again, I think the answer up here is "Get a Planet Fitness membership for $10/month". Most of the people I see out on trails in winter up here are on bikes, on dog sleds, or on snowmachines.

Take it from someone who has run since the Beatles were a band. Use a good old jockstrap to cram your package up against your warmer body cavity. That way, any insulating layers added on will actually work. The newer types are made smoother so they shouldn't chafe.
