And I do something simular now, but want to make the transition easier during my rennovatuon/clean up.

I primarily do woodturning and make childrens toys when I have time to play with wood.

And yes, grease/oil are evil with wood finishes.

Now: Only a bit better, but I hung the 7 chassis from the ceiling, and loaded the jeep top in that. Cleaned off the table as well. Also, I have people interested in about 800 bucks worth of stuff.

I failed bad today. I actually managed to ADD AN ITEM!!!!!! My garage mess is multiplying like the Gremlins.

Ok..I'm in..but only because I feel the public humiliation may push me to do something about it. I took these last night around 8:30, I really couldn't get any good inside pics with out chancing a few broken limbs trying to climb in over all the junk. A little note about my garage, it is detached from the house and has no heat or electric. Trying to look in...

I bow to Supercoupe and grant him the title of Greatest Potential! One handful at a time will get results. Just pick something up and classify it as scrap, trash, donate, burn, sell, give away or relocate. Do this until empty, clean,get electricity and proceed. Don't just swap stuff side to side as you go.

Again, proceed until EMPTY!! Items needed inside will find their way back in and the mess outside will cause turmoil that you must address! I met the local Ordinance officer during my task. She told me I should call my shop " The Augean Stables".

Anything worth saving is under the "relocate" classification and will get run through the many previous classifications before it gets put back in the garage.

That 351C 4 barrel manifold that needs cleaned, sandblasted, welded and painted to be usable is worthless if you find out that you cannot find your cleaning stuff, sandblaster is buried, has no air supply, your welder has no power and of the 156 cans of paint you find that 35 have paint, 11 of those have working nozzles and your color choices are BBQ paint, Faux granite and gloss black.

I don't feel too bad - I have two cars stuffed into 1.5 car garage and I can 'almost' walk around them. Still, there are a bunch of things I'd like to improve. Plus, I have a temp shelter in the backyard partly filled with stuff, a couple of basement shelves fileld with Volvo parts, and even more Spitfire, Volvo and VW parts in the attic. I really need a shed.

it might be kind of hard to see but there are 2 cars in there plus a Honda CB650c some where, plus a crapton of spare Audi/VW and Spridget parts.

The problem is I also have just as much "stuff" blocking the outside driveway area leading up to the garage...

this actually looks clean here, but that's just to keep the wife from killing me while I sleep

There's also a 10X20 Shelterlogic portable garage in front of the bug housing another car,go cart and as much junk as in the real garage, and then a dead Lincoln LS, and my C3 that's being prepped for paint.

Luckily I can keep a few things at work.. the Locost frame I bought 2 years ago on the way back from Road America, the anniversary present for my wife..

Wow.....I have a small double garage and I try, keyword: try, to keep it as neat and tidy as possible. I work on either my junk or friends stuff all the time so its nice to have easy access to everything. Its a constant battle though, I let it get away from me one winter Never again, that was a full weekend of dirty work and a few trips to the dump, no thank you, never again. Ive found shelving and pegboard is the key and keeping everything off the ground.

I have a problem in that I hate to get rid of things because "I might need them". In particular in my barn, it's scrap lumber and E30 parts. I parted out an 87 325is a couple of years ago, and most of it is still sitting around. I need to sell a bunch of it.

I love looking at these pictures and seeing what other people have in their garage. It's interesting.

There are 17 cars in the yard. I'll avoid that part for now.

Thanks for posting Rex. A year or so ago my garage looked like a lot of those posted here. I did a big clean up, even had my wife parking in the garage in the winter of 2012. How I've degressed. I cant wait to see the 'in progress' pics from everyone.

You'll have some from me by the end of the weekend.

Catalina should be gone Saturday. Its moving under its own power now. Need to do a little more brake work.

Then, onto general cleaning and preparing for cabinet building.

I have an idea I hope to win Most Creative Use of Space or something like that. It'll be next week before I can even start on it though.

Wow, I've somehow missed this thread, I haven't read through it yet just looked at the pictures. You guys have just made me feel so much better about myself. I though I had the worst garage in car guy history, I really feel much better now. Pics tonight I promise.

BTW, what is this on the left side of the pic, all I can see is some suspension and a roll bar, it looks intriguing.
