I disagree.  There is no good way to explain Snoke in the course of a single movie that would have been satisfactory.  It took 3 freaking movies to explain the origins of Emperor Palpatine, and we already knew the outcome.

The only thing that Snoke's background would have gotten was "Huh?" from Rey, or maybe "Yeah man, we already know all this" from anybody else.  I'm glad Snoke is gone, it was another mystery that Star Wars didn't need and distracted from the real story line.

I imagine it didn't happen sooner because she was still hoping to pull the First Order fleet away from the transports.  Once the shock wore off, she pretty much set things into motion.  I can't think of another time in the films where a hyperspace suicide ram would have been the appropriate solution, but that doesn't mean its never happened before.

Luke didn't leave a detailed map.  That was literally the start of TFA.  The old hermit didn't say he saw Luke before he left.  It was just part of a map to where Luke might be.  Which we found out in TLJ was the first Jedi temple.  It would be a good bet that a disillusioned Jedi teacher would go to a temple somewhere, and its likely there weren't a whole lot left after Order 66.

Let's be honest, Star Wars were never great movies in terms of plot, acting, logic,  and depth.

I get that.  And I can really forgive quite a lot in service of a good story.  But having too many chefs at the wheel has rendered the story meaningless and unfollowable at this point.

Maybe I'm just able to channel my inner 10 year old self when I see the title crawl of any of the movies and just have fun.

Ding!  I watch science fiction/fantasy movies for a bit of escapism, not for inducing deep, philosophical thoughts.

Throwing away the Expanded Universe was a huge mistake, there were a lot of good stories there that could have been great movies, hell the X-Wing series would have made a couple of great seasons of tv alone.

The Last Jedi was......ok. Luke was done super poorly and i get they want to do new characters but that isnt any reason to piss on the old characters. The 3 mains could have been used so much better and still have helped the story along.

The last Jedi was a very big disappointment. It didn't really flow or drive the story for me. I guess it was character building for many and origin story for some new characters. The whole casino thing was actually making me squirm with how poorly it was done. Really Finn and Rose are soooo dumb as to trust DJ. Really? There are bumbling hero's that are done well. This wasn't. It was like they randomly inserted a cream pie fight. Silly and destroyed the tone.

I guess, as others stated, maybe these movies are for the current kids. Us older fans need to move on. Or at least hope for Rogue One types to be made.

Watched it on the plane last month.

It started with a "yo mamma" joke and went downhill from there.
