I'm not saying that you posted that as an euphemism.....but that is a great euphemism there
I know of the donkey punch, the one eyed pirate, and the dirty Sanchez but I had not heard if the velvet Elvis.
You joke but I have an aunt and uncle who are perpetually in serious financial trouble despite making solid first-world middle-class money in large part because the aunt can't stop buying artworks and other fun knickknacks. Nobody's been in their apartment for a decade or two, but last time anyone saw in there, the stuff was piled high all over the place.
I cannot condemn anything I see in this thread. Recently I've been on a vintage computer kick. Suddenly and without warning, I've become the proud owner of not one or two, but *six* Commodores. Send help.

I threw away a bunch of old Macs - some functioning - before I realized vintage computers were a thing.

We have this one above our bed. SWMBO was quite stern about it not getting hung up in our living room. She never said a word about it here though...
I want the tissue dispenser recently pictured in the minor rant thread. It's fun, functional, art to my eyes.
In reply to (not) WilD (Matt) :
It’s available through Amazon.

Ouch! Yea, the market for vintage machines has really been on fire lately. Nostalgia is fun and all the youtube channels about this stuff isn't helping either!

I know very little about Seinfeld (I know Newman is some sort of scheming antagonistic character) but that painting makes me laugh uncontrollably every time I look at it.

Oh I can make that expensive. I slipped into the Tomica rabbit hole. $28 for one really nicely modeled 1/64 scale car.
So I'm blissfully minding my own business, buying $1 Matchbox/Hotwheels, and now I know about stuff like this:
I nominate you for enabler of the year.
I stumbled onto a Matchbox version at Target the other day. Not as nice, I'm sure, but it was $1 (pic to come after work).
Edit for pic:

Boom! Tomica is a rabbit hole but I’ve stayed out of it. It’s easy to drop “real car” money on hot wheels so don’t worry about me being responsible....

Send help? Hell naw. Imma come over and hang out! I miss my c64.

I got one. In boxes. With printer, tape drive, modem, and a few other accessories.
Actually trying to figure out how to price it

you shut your dirty mouth.
Rico, I think Mndsm said the price was shipping to his house.

I like how the painting style is halfway between "North Korean propaganda" and "questionable carny artwork."

I have one of those in my shop. Same color, everything. Except it is 59 times larger.

Refresh my memory, we’re you working on an engine transplant with a difficult transaxle?
No, not on that one. On the other one, the '70 S2. That project is kinda on hold. I need a part to connect the throttle body to the intake manifold and other stuff has got in the way. Also, the Locost is closer to being finished, so I've put some time on that instead. I'm doing a 1UZFE timing belt at the moment. That's a nice "small" task. And I have 2 more #UZFE timing belts to do. I should be good at them by then.

No worries, there are enough to go around!
Okay, but just get the bare essentials...
