I thought this would be a good idea; post such things here so GRMers can answer questions without having to deal with BS from the DMV, BMV, DOL, or whatever. Did someone beat me to it?

This page does a pretty fair job of summarizing the DMV regulations by state. http://www.dmv.org/

I'll have to poke around that site a little more. But when I selected California and information on salvage titles, I learned nothing new. I was thinking we could post things such as: how do you know if you're looking at a salvage title from a certain state? (In California, there's a little red box at the top right-hand corner of the title, and any brand will be in there.)

That's the information for Florida. Looks like I have to pay an additional $225 fee to register my vehicles. And they wonder why people shoot road signs.

Here's the info for bringing a vehicle into California. Everything gets a title here, and vehicles ten-plus years old are exempt from mileage readings.

You'll need to log in to post.
