I think it is really ugly. The sedan and wagon look good but the rear of the coupe is just wrong.

Ugh, I hate the CTS Coupe. That's one of the very, very, very few times I prefer the 4-door, though the Wagon is what you really want if you're bringin' sexy back.
(Yes, I said it. I'm >30, married, and have a kid. I have no concern whatsoever for being cool hahaha)

And nobody's even mentioned the Juke? C'mon, you need a welder's mask to look directly at it.
Now waitaminute guys... I'm far from a Toyota fan, but they've made a few cars since the 2000 that didn't look too bad: I've always liked the '77 era Celica liftback and the mid-80's Supra has a neat look to it, even if it wears its "80's-ness" on it's sleeve. And the 2nd gen MR2 looks pretty damn good, even if the designers were staring at Ferrari's while they did it.

1977 Celica > 1970 2000GT in style points

They've had some pleasant designs, yes. But I was going for a higher standard. A lot of those cars looked good at the time, but not so much now. The Celica is certainly nice looking. Supras each ended up as looking like the generic sports car design of their time.

I wouldn't think that is a commonly held opinion, although it might be on these boards.

Sorry, but I think this one wins. Err, loses. Uhhh...
And the TC was never a good-looking car. Or a cool car. The ads just said it was, so people believed it.
the TC was not a bad looking car. I am in the anti-scion crowd.. and I thought it was pleasant looking. certainly better than any other toyota

I gotta agree. The CTS coupe has the biggest butt of anything I have ever seen, including the Z06 'Vette and J Lo.

Exactly. The CTS wagon and sedan look decent (looks too much like the whole car was designed with rulers to be great looking) but when they did the coupe, they seemed to go for the largest rear end ever.

On a slightly related note, my mom has a 2005 Murano S (the base). Its purple (or cranberry something or other). On one of my few trips home to visit my dad and her, she let me drive it. As I was on my way back from the store, this kid in a brand new black tC was showing off and tried to race me from a stoplight. I destroyed that little punk in the purple mom mobile. I was laughing the whole time. He wouldn't make eye contact at the next light

While the TC may not win any pageants, it is still pretty awesome value for the dollar. I dont want to rehash the old Civic Si vs TC+TRD debate, but in the HP/$ and option combos available category, the TC checks A LOT of the right boxes. There werent Ads for scion in the typical manner for the first 5-6 years of Scions existence - they chose a viral/grassroots method of advertising. Basically, it wasnt the marketing dept at Toyota that made the populace buy into their wares, it was the attributes of the car. In my opinion, performance IS THE VERY DEFINITION of cool, and the TC performs.

Yeah, that Crosstour thing ain't faintly pretty. In person, the proportions aren't as bad as in pics but otherwise yuck. That Ridgeline grille has gotta go.
all I got to say with all this is, Toyota was 100% better when it was fully based and 95% of them were built in Japan. Another point on this ugly thing, my dad had an 01 Tundra, loved that truck and it looked great, the newer ones when they were so proud to be made in america, had recall after recall and got HUGE and utterly berkeleying HIDEOUS Toyota all Japan=GREAT. Toyota all USA=ugly e36m3
the 86 is the only Toyota I like currently but there are very few new cars I actually like from ALL manufactures, it seems this commercial sums all that up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbW_e4g5-bk
