They definitely look better in person, IMO. The interior, however, leaves a lot to be desired. I didn't realize until a couple weeks ago, when I met a buddy who has one, that regardless of what the exterior color is, the interior has RED Vatozone APC "accents" everywhere.

Handling was great, but damn, if only they could've put that motor in the previous generation Fit and called it a day. You can (or I could, anyway,) tell the car weighs 3,000+ lbs. I wasn't as impressed with the acceleration as I thought I'd be.

Not a "hater." I wanted to love it. It left me "meh," though I'd love to wring one out on track/at an autocross.

I'm sorry to tell you about the rule. Now that you have mentioned a good idea (Type R motor in the Fit) you simply must do it. We expect a build thread within a week.

Send me the sponsorship $$$ and I will make it so!

Between Hertz and Turo, I was money ahead to get a 10k mile 2017 4 Runner for a week in Phoenix  and Tucson thru Hertz than a 150k mile 10 year old 4 Runner that would have been a "whole deal" to pick up at 10PM thru Turo.

The idea is OK but I found the cars to be very lacking in Phoenix.  Maybe because it was Barret Jackson week and all the cool stuff was booked.

Found a C7 near me for $153, but...

" - This vehicle is (additionally) equipped with 2 cameras (forward and rear-facing). For our and your protection, GPS tracking monitors current location and speed at all times - This vehicle also has a car chip that monitors engine telematics (data like RPM’s, acceleration, braking, and cornering (the ABC's), as well as top speed). The car chip receives this driving data and will alert us to excessive speeding or extreme acceleration, braking, or cornering and improper RPM range

**If the GPS, camera(s) or car chip is disconnected or tampered with, you will be subject to a $5,000 fine per TURO rules.

- Please enjoy this monster of a car and have fun while practicing good judgement, road safety and proper driving behavior not just for yourself, but for others around you -

No burnouts, donuts, drag racing or track racing (including on private or commercial race tracks). Tire tread wear will be checked for excessive wear upon the return of the car (and abuse billed accordingly). Illegal street racing in this car is strictly disavowed, please don’t do it. "

I had not heard of Turo before, so I browsed the local listings to see what was up.  I do not understand the point of this service.  Most of the local listings were older vanilla cars in what I will charitably call "less than mint" condition that you can rent for more than it would cost you to rent something from a big name rental agency.  There were a few cars I will call premium brands (some also old and meh) for rental prices I will call very pricey.

My Type R rental guy was telling me how cool the dash flashes back at you when redlining it.

I was cautious and stayed under that.

I was surprised how many Kia's and Hyundai's that were available for about $100 per day.  I'm guessing it's for people under 25 or no credit so they can't use traditional rental places.

I've booked a couple cars. Out here, it was ~200 cheaper than a big rental place to get a 7 passenger SUV for a week, and we didn't have to drive as far to pick it up. Ended up with an Acura MDX in very nice shape.

I also used it to book a pickup for a day to go to ikea. Also cheap, and no worrying about dents in a 10 year old F150. I like that you can get some oddball stuff too - like, for instance, anything with a manual transmission.
