Did my civic duty this AM, the lines were about 2 1/2 hours long. Unfortunately, there was only 1 challenger to an incumbent in my district.

How about y'all?

I voted at 6:40am - 10 people in line. It took all of 10 minutes.

Our school district wants a second high school building to the tune of $125,000,000. I wonder if there is a more grassroots way to build it?

Voted this morning. The church that we vote at has 2 separate lines - one for each precinct in the district. NO ONE was in my precinct line, so I just walked up, signed and voted. The other line wasn't too bad, though. Maybe 25-30 people. They probably didn't wait too long.

I voted early last Thursday at my Ohio County Court House. When I arrived at 4:00 (open till 4:30) there were about 30 people in line and took about 40 minutes. I have done the same way (early) for the previous primary as well. It was very easy and I like the ability to pick the day/time.

Voted at 8:30a, no delays. A 5-minute process counting parking. Felt good, even though there were a bunch of seats I didn't feel I could vote for, including my US senator.

We voted on a county sales tax referendum for road improvements and just below the sales tax bit was a bond issuance referendum. The sales tax thing was for a max of 7 years or $206,000,000.00. The bond issue was to fund the projects to be repaid from the sales tax collections but the bond issue was for $150,000,000.00. Hmmm. What's supposed to happen to the other $56,000,000.00 or $8,000,000.00 a year? Answer: interest and fees etc on the bond referendum. I voted for the penny tax but against the bond referendum, I want to see pay as you go.

I voted around 9:30; plenty of people in the booths, but I only had to wait a minute or two. As the guy was finding my name in the signature book, I saw stamps next to about half of the other people, which makes me assume that they voted early.

So far we've voted against 3 big spending "improvements" for our area this year. It seems the fashion to put everything in one issue including the kitchen sink and then expect us to pass them wholesale.

The first one lost, we'll see what these 2 do. We moved to our area because of lower taxes. In one fell swoop they wanted to double our taxes just so they could build a huge Football stadium - they don't even have a good football team!

I got there at 6am when they opened and there was a line of about 50 people there but it moved fast. Just the pres , 6 other posts and a vote on giving disabled war veterans 10 extra points on state civil service tests. It was nice to see a decent turn out, usually when they open it's just my wife and I there.

I went and got in line this morning at 6:20. I was number 30 of what appeared to be 200. Lucky me. That's what I thought at least. Then I went in and found out that I was at the wrong polling place (I moved recently). Crap. So I went to the correct place and they didn't have my name there either. I should have been done by 7:15. Instead, it took until 8:15 with special ballots and reregistration. Oh well. Maybe they'll count my vote twice. Still made it to work on time-ish.

I voted early in the "mobile voting van" than was in my neighborhood. The took a lot of pictures of me for security purposes, and the guy gave me $20 to sit on his feet.

Big lines at my polling place. I normally get there just before they open at 7am and am back out the door by 7:15 or so, but today I wasn't finished until 8:40. The line stretched out the door and down the street two full city blocks. At least the weather was nice so it was a pleasant morning to be outside.

I arrived at the polling site at 5:30 AM - polls opened at 6:00. There were approximately 150 people in line when I got there. I was done at 7:00, by which time the line was 3X longer than when I arrived.

By contrast, in 2004 I arrived at about 5:45 AM and there were maybe 20 people ahead of me.

Voted about a month ago...

...remember if its a bond, it's freeeee money!!!! doesn't raise taxes wohooo! Come on now, how could borrowing a bunch of money to pay for something you can't really afford get us into any trouble!?!?

It will be interesting to see if the (apparently) very large voter turnout has any noticeable affect on how things are voted on (more stupid / easily influence people going to the polls? more of the lesser religious types?)

Whoever the "extra" voters are, they're motivated and involved and care enough to actually vote. So that's good.

My wife voted by mail. Good thing, too. The ballot here is enormous. Took her about 45 minutes to go through it all.

That was in place when I signed on to the Feds in 1978. Who else takes a Civil Service test?

As I understand it the absentee balloting is only counted in close races. Or at least that's what I was told right here on GRM.

I woke up at my normal time. Realized I wanted coffee before hitting the polls, drove out of the way to hit a Peet's coffee. Took surface streets to my polling place. Got to work about 20 minutes later than normal.
