Apparently I missed a Mr. Oizo album that came out in September 2016:

Metallica @ Woodstock - For Whom the Bell Tolls
Nothing against Newsted, but nobody compares to Cliff. Tough act to follow.
This is, in fact, one of my favorite songs to listen to in part because the guitar followed the bass instead of the other way around. The rest of the reason is because it just berking rules.
Trivia: The bit that Kirk plays in the interim between Cliff being awesome and the start of the main part of the song, is basically just a reversed version of the end of Fairies Wear Boots, to the point where some covers get the riff wrong.
Song played when Steve McQueen was tooling around the beach in the dune bugger with Faye Dunaway.
So Annie and I were on a fantastic journey to Bordeaux, France, earlier this month. We drank copious quantities of the local wine, "right bank" (more Merlot blend), and "left bank"(more Cabernet blend). The Garonne, the Dordogne, and Gironde Rivers. But the wine is all called Bordeaux, and we liked all of it. In fact, for about a week, Annie and I were in a virtual wine haze. Nice. And then we were in a factory that made wine barrels. Interesting process involving high tech 5-axis CNC milling and intense, highly skilled manual labor including fire. But anyway, why Chris LeDoux for this post? We met a great couple in France from Victoria, TX. Tim, the guy (really, Tim, the man), was a fan of Chris LeDoux, as well as a host of other great vintage Good Ol' Boy country music makers. Tim said he liked two kinds of music: Country, and Western. He and I had great fun in France!
Just found out about Closure in Moscow. If you liked The Mars Volta before their music became the lower-energy stuff it is now, you should give them a listen.
Oingo Boingo - Controller. About six times in a row.
I think the cassette version of Only A Lad I had missed this track and What You See, so yesterday it became bonus surprise music.
I received a cryptic text message from my son this morning. He simply said: August 16, 2019, mark it on your calendar. Well, my interest was piqued, and of course I asked why. It turns out that Mark Knopfler will be performing at Foxwoods Casino in CT, and he already purchased tickets, and guaranteed within the first 5-7 rows. I'm blown away. We've talked about this for years. We're both huge Mark Knopfler fans (he's 42, and a highly successful CTO and VP, and I'm retired and a few weeks shy of 70), and we've always said when Mark comes to town, we'll see him. Well, he was more vigilant than me, and he snagged tickets. I'm really psyched about this, and looking forward to it! Life is good, very good!
i picked this up this morning. I've listened to a pair of Pearl Jam shows, a Foo Fighters show and am listening to a P Funk show now.

Endure, or skip over the first minute and a half in b&w ... until the color comes on. Then you can appreciate the talent.
I like Chris because he's a vintage car guy, and his voice and style is a helluva lot like a cross between Mark Knopfler and Leonard Cohen.
Tom Petty - Crawling Back to You
Good song, good album. Tom left us way too soon.
"Most things I worry about don't happen anyway."
Love those lyrics.
We're closing out the evening listening to Helen's great Porcelain album. Enjoyed a good bottle of Haut-Medoc (sub-region of Bordeaux) in front of the fireplace.
