How about a homemade style?
I took two exhaust clamps, welded them to a 5" piece of 1in square tube. I have another tube perpendicular to the cross piece, and bolted a tripod head to the end of that one.
So it was a T with exhaust clamps at the base. My brother ran it for autox's and at Monticello last year and had zero problems with vibration. I wish I had a pic.
First, congrats on choosing the Flip. I've used several type of cameras in my car and I'm far happier with the Flip than any of the others. Batteries last a fair amount of time, it actually has a monitor and video quality is decent.
~Click Here To See My ultra-cheesy Flip mount~ (made for under $5). Maybe you'll do something better, but this might give you an idea. In my experience, the Flip shape needs a "surround" mount. If you mount only on the 1/4-20 stud at the bottom, you'll get wobbly video.
~Here~ is a video made using that mount.
And in a ~Later Video Session~ I added a mirror to capture all the guys who were about to pass me.
