I didn't realize just how behind I am on sleep.
I fell asleep on the couch yesterday until almost 2pm. Maybe I should do some more of that,

Pretty chill as I can use a break. I have a few photo shoots and some hanging out with friends planned for the week. Plus I need to clean my office. Someone made a mess in here.
We had our Christmas last weekend as the kids go to her family for Christmas (swap XGiving & Xmas each year). Friends for dinner Christmas Eve, then chill. Before spring I want to paint the kitchen and an upstairs bedroom, maybe I'll get a beer and stare at it a while.
I am entertaining the in-laws and their gigantic poodle things for like the 15th year in a row. I am going to try to spend some serious alone time with my Subarus. Craftily staying "busy" and out of their way.....
Sadly, we're in the sick group around here. Hopefully we will be well enough to go visit family for new years.
Finishing up a laundry room renovation project that stalled out a few months ago, while my wife is in FLA tending to aging parental issues. I didn't tell her what my plans are, so she can have a nice surprise when she gets back home from what will likely be a stressful trip. Seems to be the least I can do.
I'm off Monday and then back to work on Tuesday. Couple of my coworkers are off most of the week to burn vacation time so it'll be a skeleton crew at work. My family is Christmas Eve and Mrs. DX family is Christmas Day. Other than that, catch up on Netflix watch list that has been put off.
We've been trying to get as much Christmas in as we can, with my wife and I both sick. 3 out of 5 of the kiddos tested positive as well, which means that there's lots of missed kids activities, so we're trying to keep spirits up as best we can with what energy we've got.
Spending 5 days at a spa/retreat resort. Hiking, fine dining, campfires, scotch, a mani/pedi, and a massage. They even have spa treatments for the dog.

Keep it on the down low. I don't want my wife finding out about this type of glorious vacation.
Last year Mrs. Javelin and I had covid and not the kids and it was terrible.
This year we have all the kids and no covid and it's still terrible.
Who knew that 4 kids on Christmas would be so lonely? Her and I both grew up with going to grandma's on Christmas eve and seeing the whole famdamily every year, our kids have 4 sets of grandparents and none of them host or visit. 1 hasn't been talked to in a decade, 1 is in Europe for the 4th time this year, 1 has been absent for 3 decades, and the 4th would totally do more but is 800 miles too far away.
None of our siblings visit or call, no cousins, barely any friends. I hate the berkleying holidays.

Wife: should I take a Covid test? Sure
Ruh Roh.........Merry Christmas
Time off with the kiddos and wiffee!
Doing some rabbit odds and ends. Need to see if my Challenge vinyl wrapping experience will make for wrapped aluminum bumpers (tired of repainting them).
Need to organize garage and finish laying out the new tool chest.
I had covid not this past week but the week before. Which sucked! I'd worked two weeks straight and got covid thursday night and spent the entire weekend at home feeling crappy. At least the kids/wife didn't get it.
Then this past week we were in Cabo, flying home yesterday. Today I went to the office to pay bills, saw someone left their wrecked car outside. Will need to call the PD on them if its still there this Thursday. Then came home and paid bills, walked the dog, more chores. Meeting family tonight for Asian food dinner.
Off till the 2nd, will probably replace the dust boots on the front brake calipers on the 911. Otherwise just hanging out...

Tell her I said it's terrible. Worst experience of my life. Not worth the trip. No sir. Off to my mani-pedi now with a green tea infusion wrap and hot stone meditation. I'm sure it will be awful too.
Either doing a bunch of welding on the LoCost frame or finishing the chassis jig for the crosskart build. Hoping to either have the LoCost frame done this coming week or finishing the jig and most of the chassis on the crosskart. The LoCost will be easier and the Crosskart very ambitious to finish by New Years.
Well, the Crosskart chassis jig got finished yesterday and I was making great progress on the LoCost frame when I snapped the blade in the bandsaw. Unfortunately it was my last one and no spare on the shelf. Oh well, at least I did get something constructive done between the holidays and the shop cleaned up a bit. There's always 2024........
Well I ended up doing exactly none of the things I had planned. My mom and her husband were here for a week, and as awesome as they are, it's still draining. So I spent the rest of the time just veggin' out, catching up on sleep, embibing a bit too much , watching TV/movies, and got in some PS5 time.
Now I'm kind of wishing I had taken this week off as well since even after last year I'm still starting this year with 3 weeks of PTO.
