My son is moving from Forest Hills to Rye, NY. Talking last night about first month-last month rent, security, moving expenses etc. he said he had a stash of Hayoo doon money in his sock drawer.

"Yeah Dad, customer comes in, shake hands "Hayoo doon" and you have cash in your palm. Greasing. I usually tuck it in my pocket never breaking eye contact and buy myself a cup of coffee on the way home."

Knowing a move is coming, he started saving it. $3100 in "a few months". Crap kid!

I never had one of my customers slip me money.........I dare not ask the business....LOL
I get the green shakes a lot here, but not nearly as much as when I was the doorman at Sparty's night club.

I have a sock drawer (and the rest of the drawers on that dresser for that matter) stuffed fulla vidja games. My sock drawer goes by the more common name "dryer" and sometimes "basket" or "floor".

Rye's a nice change from Forest Hills. Much quieter and nicer. A bit hoity-toity for my tastes, tho. I live in Port Chester, the next stop on Metro North.

There's a private beach for Rye residents. $80/month for a one stall garage, wicked cheaper than F Hills.
I have my 25+ Datsun Competition Catalog collection and the old 1970 Road & Track's in my sock drawer.

Once upon a time in a high school locker room, I actually saw this dude stuff socks into the front of his drawers. I don't know who he thought would be looking down there, since it was an all boy school. Maybe he was trying to impress one of the priests?

As a batchelor, I have no designated sock drawer. They are stacked in a pile next to the underwear, on top of the drawer cabinet.
It's an orderly pile, though.. 
My sock drawer contains approximately 300 unique individual socks that are never worn and have exactly zero hope of ever being reunited with a matching mate.
Additionally, it contains roughly 6-8 actual "pairs" of socks that are worn and laundered regularly, and can only dream of the blissful and endless retirement that their more numerous one-off bretheren enjoy.
