My outliers involve owning normal cars but modifying them. None of the chassis themselves are outliers.

Right now I'm kinda on a utility kick: I want to dump a Jeep Patriot in the weeds and add boost/SRT swap. Something like this:

 photo jeeppp.jpg

I want a GRM Challenge Cherokee, only with a slightly more advanced suspension (coil springs) and a manual.
I want an older short bed, short cab Tacoma/Colorado/Ranger with a hybrid drivetrain of some sort. Or a turbo 4-cyl with >300hp.

I would drive it every day. With the 3 wheel motion.

Hard core rock crawlers. Specifically King of the Hammers race trucks. If I had any idea how to properly drive one, I'd want to build one.

I like all kinds of weird stuff. My list is too long. I have a real soft spot for legit sleepers. Definitely would be tempted to build a sleeper out of a Honda Element. Or toss a GXP V8 or supercharged 3800 in a Pontiac Montana.

I've driven 4 cylinder trucks, and subcompact cars for as long as I can remember, but if I wasn't so damn cheap, I'd be rolling in a lowered Avalanche with duals and flowmasters.

if we didn't have winter and rough as hell roads i'd so get those factory 20's and drop my avalanche a little bit

Lately, my CL searches have been looking for challenge priced Allante's...

I like pretty much everything. Lately I've been looking at old diesel Benzs and Reattas. I am adding Allantes to the list now.

Yep I'd still own everything. I think I need to start looking for a lunched catera and an ls/t56 combo.

I love wagons, although I know that's normal around here. Also, I secretly miss the 99 Lumina that was a hand me down from grandparents. Boring, comfy and bulletproof. I would not be against daily driving another fwd 3800 powered GM sedan.

Big 4X4 Vans

I like Big 4wd vans. There is a guy who builds these is local to me, and they are amazing in person.

I saw an early 90's Olds Cutlass Cierra wagon, white with bordello red velour interior, today at the dump. It was in very nice condition. I'm not gonna lie, I kinda wanted it.

My automotive tastes are all over the place. I love a plethora of cars thanks to this forum, it opened my eyes to more than just 4th generation f-bodies and how much fun you can have with just $2000. With that being said it's hard to define an outlier on a board like this. With that being said...these vehicles are out there and my everyday friends would question me for owning one.

  1. 1st gen Honda Odyssey with a K-swap and shag carpet interior.
  2. Newest generation Honda Odyssey. The creature comforts are amazing, plus you get the utilization of a minivan, plus decent MPGs, plus the smooth V6, etc. I secretly want to trade wifes forester in for one but she would kill me.
  3. I love my new STI but deep down I want a Honda Fit to daily drive and rice the E36 M3 out of. Do the semi-stance thing but actually make it a capable autox track day toy. (09-14 Fit) I just love the cupholders in front of the A/C Ducts.
  4. I have this affinity for 80s Volvo 240s. A 4.8l GM truck motor with some mild modifications thrown into one of these would be a blast to hoon.
  5. Scion xB and Honda element.

I got weird looks from a school teacher as I was coveting his mint and I mean flawless 240dl at the gas station tonight. It was pretty. But when a weird bearded guy is slackjawed at your general direction, you tend to run lol.

I've been wanting a prewar car restored to stock condition.

Then again, not sure how I'd be able to stay thinking that way if I had one.

I'll admit, I have a desire for an '90s Cutlass Cierra also. Either with a LNF + 6spd, or a boosted 3800.
