My friend lost a wheel. Long story involving wimmen, kids, malls, but now he has a 1998 Corolla with 3 wheels. The other 3 are 14" Miglia 1000's probably from 15-ish years ago. They seem to be not made anymore. Anyone have a source for used aftermarket rims?
I have a set on my Prizm. That's the only set I have ever come across. They seem to be pretty rare.
So, I guess he's kinda berkeleyed then. I told him he would probably be best off buying a set of 15" rims off of Tire Rack (GRM ADVERTISER) and some tires.
How bad is it? I've seen some pretty badly damaged rims repaired.
Google image search on eBay and Craigslist maybe he'll get lucky.
Otherwise, might be time to move up to 15's.
Yeah, well the problem is that he doesn't have the rim at all. It came off the car. The tow truck guy said he looked for it but couldn't find it. Who knows where it landed. Like I said, wimmen were involved in this, and 18 year olds at that. He has the car back, repaired, with three wheels and a space saver spare.
Miata guys are always selling sets of stock 14" alloy wheels, 4x100, often with tires, for cheap. Why not check CL, your local Miata club, and/or miata.net and see if there are any nearby? There are three sets on our local CL right now.
I can't believe no one else has made the good old "You picked a fine time to leave me, loose wheel" joke yet. I must be getting old.
