1970 AMG M109A3 DEUCE AND A HALF 6X6 ARMY MAINTENANCE/RADIO TRUCK.
I have little use for this other than camping, and it would be complete overkill for that. I can't even fathom the gas mileage. I don't know what's wrong with me, but I love big trucks and I cannot lie.
I so buy that so I could drive it to work everyday and park it in the hybrid parking here just to see them try and tow it.
would make one heck of a tow car if you were karting, you could just sleep at the track.

Please buy it so I'll feel better about the Intense 951 I want but will only ride a handful of times a year...
Oh yeah... those don't get gas mileage, they get gas yardage.
Probably gallons per mile vs the other way 'round, eh?
When you drive one of them people will not just get out of your way, they GET THE berkeley OUT of your way trust me.
Thats badass....I don't care what anyone says, that would make a killer platform for an offroad motorhome.

You like big truck and you cannot lie, you other brothers cant deny. ok thats all ive got my minds fried today
Glad you got my reference ryanty22.
This is rather bizarre - when I saw the title, and before I opened this thread, the title made me think, "There's a deuce and a half for sale about four miles from my house."
IIRC they get around 10mpg on regular diesel fuel, but will burn used, filtered ATF, motor oil, etc, just fine. Top permissible speed in 5th gear is 56 mph.
Decommissioned military trucks have become the do-everything solution in agriculture. Drive them anywhere, and they are about unkillable.

The question is, why DON'T you need a deuce and a half? I was just discussing today my need for a school bus- out of earshot of my wife of course.
That's a DAMN good question. Maybe this is exactly what I need.
I mean, my husband would divorce me, but think of all the hot guys I could pick up with that thing!

I want a deuce-and-a-half bobber in the worst way... which is even less practical and more expensive.
Honestly being one of the not too common radio trucks it really would make an easy and original conversion to towpig/camper. Why do any of us NEED any of our toys? If we can afford the toy and the maintenance then why the hell not. Maintenance on that would be relatively cheap and easy compared to a newer dually and gas mileage would probably be similar to a 454
But oh god if you get it, get it a paint job even if its done by Maaco. Too many camo trucks in NC as it is

Ok... now I'm not one to question others spousal choices, but any man that would divorce his wife for wanting a deuce and a half, that's just un...something.
He's WAY more practical than me. Like, a LOT. Although, when I met him he had a first gen Bronco. I was way more upset when he sold it than he was.
In reply to Woody:
Power Wagons are cool, but a M35A2 will drag one around no problem, probably in high range.
Damn, I would give a kidney for that Power Wagon OR the Bobber.

Of course, either of them is more practical than an Intense 951... where its only mark on the plus side is it takes up a lot less room.

Isn't that one of the new ones some company makes that run around 100k+?
I raise all of you in what I want for a DD.
In reply to Grizz:
You mean Icon? Yeah they make cool stuff but damn is it expensive.
I've seen running, driving deuces for $5k. Who needs a rusty CJ5 when you could have a 6x6? I have seriously thought (dreamt) about it. But then there is the issue of space (I don't have it), fuel, tires and maintenance/parts cost.
What would I use it for? What wouldn't I use it for!? Going to the store, driving to work everyday, assaulting the nearest small country.
