It's one thing to bastardize a nice car (I'm OK with that) but at least get the wheel base - track correct.
Oy.

Me too.
To the OP - You'd probably not like the Quantum Syncro either. It's a B2 chassis like an Audi Coupe GT/4000, but when they converted it to AWD they didn't use the Quattro floorpan, instead making a 944-like swingarm suspension for the FWD floorpan. There wasn't quite enough room for a decent swingarm length, so... they offset the rear wheels an inch or so in the existing wheelwell.
Volkswagen: Close enough is good enough!
With a little bit of work to fix the stupid stuff, that would be a pretty cool little vehicle.
Move the axle back 4-5 inches and widen the bed about the same and I'd drive the crap out of it.
I mean, are old stepside pickup beds, which would look right and be easy to modify, really that hard to come by?
Duck Dynasty
If people would just stop talking about it, it would cease to exist. For berkeley's sake.

I'm as redneck as anyone .. but I gotta say, I watched a little bit .. .couldn't see any reason for that show to exist … it's dumber than most anything on TV .. and IMO you gotta work awfully hard to be labeled that way
i'd put a flat bed on it and drive it everywhere.
It doesn't need a step-side bed or axle relocation. ...just a pair of narrowed step-side fenders would fix the gap and cover the tires.
Still don't know if I'd like it, but the "fix" is easy.
