That network has such potential, but their methods of program management leave much to be desired. I'm glad that 5th Gear and Ed and Jim's producers managed to bring enough advertising dollars on board to effectively purchase slots on the network.
I was just watching a Velocity program called Performance and the were showing a "Volkswagon" Karmann Ghia with a Viper motor. I quit watching.
Yeah, but the Paul Newman special last night was awesome!! Velocity is definitely hit and miss. Perhaps the goofy reality and "builder" shows pay for us to watch the good ones (like Chasing Classic Cars, Wheeler Dealers, etc).

I was wanting to buy the Paul Newman Doc then last night I randomly looked to see what was on......what? How did I not know?
Velocity had so much promise when it became a channel. Unfortunately I'm starting to see it go the way of the Speed Channel.
The few good shows they have, doesn't make up for the plethora of crap that's on there.
Unfortunately the masses like reality drama and people screaming at each other, so that is what we're stuck watching nowadays.
I agree, the programming seems to be very limited and rerun-intensive. Granted, it's better than nothing auto/mc related, but not by a lot. The Newman special was great though.
I wish somebody would recreate the original Speedvision with the awesome WRC coverage, and a combination of shows (including a series about assembling a Vans RV-8) and coverage of various racing series.
Does anybody have MAV TV? I see it's listed as part of a package for me, and seems to have same-day WRC coverage and oval track racing.
75% of the shows on velocity are crap. Wheeler dealers is great, and so is Chasin Classic Cars. I don't even like classic cars much, but the show is a wealth of knowledge and zero BS.
CBSsn has a lot of oddball racing on it, as well as the PowerNation tv shows- which to me are the best shows out there for watching other people throw sponsor's parts on stuff..
I also enjoyed Mecum auctions. Yeah yeah I know it's an auction and it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I liked it better than Barrett Jackson, don't know why, I just liked it better.
Now Mecum went to NBC Sports and Barrett is on Velocity.
I have mavtv. Its got a lot of variety. Some doesn't interest me much but they have my favorite car show "Full Custom Garage" Its a build show but it's one guy so no fake fighting and no b.s. deadlines. The guy is supermellow.
They have motocross, off-road racing boat racing, rally, all kinda of stuff. It comes across pretty low budget though.

Screw blaming Velocity, blame GM for naming something the Spanish name of a crustacean.....

Builder dude: "And how long do I have for this build?"
Customer with goatee, sunglasses, dad jeans and white New Balances: "You've got a WEEK."
...and I still watch.
Oh I forgot, MavTv also has "search for the ultimate street car" which has potential, not currently good, but has potential. Too much time spent on the drivers life stories and not nearly enough tech info on the cars, also the host is some guy with a squeaky voice and elaborate facial hair, he gets under my skin.
