This car has a 3D printed frame, dash, & grille, and CF body panels made from 3D printed molds:

I think it is Shelb "E" like electric.
I wonder what material they used for the frame. Looks like what would come out of a really big Makerbot.

Looks a bit different to me. I would say it is very distinguishable from a real one. Good thing ol' Shel passed or he would have to sue to government.

it was getting to the point he would sue somebody for saying his name
Didn't local motor make a 3D printed car too? Yep.
The DoE car is way better looking obviously since it's a Cobra. The part that interests me is the bit about being "carbon reinforced." Are we talking carbon fiber 3d printers? Because doing carbon fiber printing on the scale of car parts is the real interesting part of the news to me.
Yeah it's sort of 3D printing carbon fiber. It's putting out a stream of ABS as usual, but it's also putting out a single fiber of CF in the middle of it.
Cool process. Cool that they made the car. Not so cool that it totally looks like a Chinese knockoff of a Cobra. I think I actually like the weird little Local Motor frog-car better, just because it seems to be its own thing.
