I'm helping my boss to sell his car since he isn't well versed in the internet car sales. Car is located in Mount Joy, PA
Up for sale is his 2000 Corvette. If you want a turn-key track car, this is it! This is his track car- it's street legal but it's been his track car for years at Summit Point where he is an instructor along many other national tracks. He's used it for several consecutive years in One Lap of America as well. I can ask him specific questions if you have any but here is what I know:
2000 Corvette in Yellow with 162,000 miles on body and 44,000 miles on engine.
-LS3 Short Block bored 4.07", 6.2L/376 CI built by Gohn
-LS6 built and ported heads & 3 angle valve job
-Callies 4340 steel forged crank with 3.622 stroke
-Diamond 2618 forged 2cc flat top pistons with 11.3:1 compression
-Callies 4340 Forged steel H-beam connecting rods
-Bullet hydraulic roller cam with .650 exhaust and .650 intake
-6 speed Z06 trans with B&M short shifter
-Year one high performance power steering pump
-T1 front sway bar, Z51 rear sway bar with all polly suspension bushings
-Borla Stinger 2 outlet mufflers (very very loud!!)
-Masterlube Accu-sump accumulator/pre-luber 3 quart
-custom oil oil/air separator catch can
-K&N 57-320 cold air box
-Wilwood LG Motorsports SL6 6-Piston front calipers.
-SPEC brand Stage 3 clutch (very heavy pedal)
-LSX Fast 78mm intake, 39lb fuel injectors
-Custom tune by Jeremy Formato of Fasterproms.
-567hp at crank when the engine was built.
-I believe it has a hitch on it since he used to pull a trailer to/from the track with tires and other items.
The car has 5 point harnesses and a harness bar inside- I assume those are included but I can't say what wheels will be included- he has several sets with all different tires on them.
Being a track car, it's loud and rough on the street but runs strong on the track. It's not a show car either but that's not the purpose of it. I've been in this car for auto-x and high speed track runs. The thing runs great and is amazing in the hands of a skilled driver. Car is being sold to finance the build of one of his other, newer Corvettes.
Price is $10,000. Yes the vinyl stickers are still on the car. I can provide an email or phone number if you are interested.
haha I'm sure he thought about putting it in the auto locator but he prefers to sell by word of mouth but I said I would post it here to more exposure.
It's a driver's car and not someone's sunday casual cruiser. It needs to be owned by a car person.
He's used it for several consecutive years in One Lap of America as well
iirc, it's on the order of 8, 9 (?) time's at OneLap of America... depending on if you count the blown motor in '11.
turn key to run in the top 50% of the OneLap grid, easily
I want that badly. Running the numbers in my head seeing if I can come up with the cash. Anybody want to buy a nice TR7 coupe or a TR8 convertible that needs paint?
In reply to sleepyhead :
You are correct- I forget how many times he's run it to be honest but I know he always had a decent finish (aside from 2011 haha). This year he ran his C6 in One Lap but didn't end up as high as he did with this C5.
The one lap results I'm aware of are: 2013- 37th overall, 2014- 23rd overall
I know the car has been through several engine rebuilds but the specs above are what currently sits in the car.
One more action shot:
So, most will think this is a pretty irrelevant question, but, does the Targa top still come off? I have a soft spot for open top motoring.
Absolute bargain... I'll be letting a friend at work know about this one. If I had the cash, I'd almost be tempted just so I had a backup car to take to the track when the Supra is giving me headaches!
In reply to knb13 :
Very Interested, been on the hunt for a C5 in this price range. Mods are just icing on the cake. PM me with details when you get a minute.
I went ahead and posted a link over on the Corvette forum in the auto crossing & road racing classified section - there maybe some folks over there that would be interested.
GLWS!
Sorry I was traveling for work and wasn't online... yes the car is available.
Deacon Blue thanks for sharing!
Whisky Business- I did not get your PM. Please email me at knb13@hotmail.com or text at 717-572-4356.
Anyone else interested? Final call before I place it on Craigslist this weekend at probably a higher price.
You'll need to log in to post.
