Hello All,
Anyone want to offload a large rear bar for an early miata? I need one to balance out the handling on the Pinto. Fair warning, I have a lowballer compulsion. Please do not be offended :).
Note that NA/NB aren't completely interchangeable, the angle of the ends is different. You can sorta make it work, but we sell both for a reason :)
I have a Racing Beat rear bar that I would sell. When I look it up on their site, it says NA/NB.
Let me get some pictures for you yet this evening.
Shoot, I can't find it. Must have sold it already. Sorry about that.
I have an FM rear bar I'd sell ya - NB version.
PM me with a low ball offer, worst I'll do is say, "eh, not quite".
Holler.
Many thanks to ГУЛАГ мальчик УР следующий for meeting up and selling me a flyin miata rear bar at a great price!
...Unfortunately it doesn't fit my setup. The kicked out center portion hits my fuel cell cage. So, before I start cutting, does anyone have a different 16mm / 5/8" rear sway bar for an NA/NB?
I may. Let me get pics and measurements tomorrow. Not quite sure what it is.
Happy to help if I can.
Okay, here are some pics. I have had this in the garage for a few years and I kinda think I remember it is a rear sway bar for an NA or NB Miata, but might be wrong. I'm in Longmont, Colorado at 80501.
Lemme know if you have questions, need more info, or if this might be useful for you. Good luck!

BoulderG, thanks for the pictures! Unfortunately this bar also has the "hump" where a section kicks back between the bushings. That's the part of the Flyin Miata bar that hits my fuel cell cage. I need a bar that is straight between the bushings like the racingbeat, or whiteline.
Ah, sorry it won't work for you. I think I have a stock 2016 Mazda6 rear swaybar laying around, too. Replaced it with this Corksport part and have since sold the car. It's the same for the Mazda3, apparently. Photo from their website. Useful?
I believe the first generation Spec Miata rear bar was "straight". I might have one from a LoCost 7 project that I can take a picture of.
As I thought about it, the stock sway bar is "flat" all the way across, so I wondered what NA (aftermarket) bars looked like.
It appears that Whiteline and Eibach look to have flat bars for the NA? If so, a couple brands to try and chase down....
In reply to ГУЛАГ мальчик УР следующий :
You read my mind. I found a whiteline bar on sale which should deliver today... we will see. Let me know if you want your FM bar back, if not, I'll pass it on to the next person who needs it.
Factory is straight. The FM bar (and some others) have bends in them to limit sideways movement of the bar in the slippery poly bushings. Eibach welds collars on the bar, Whiteline just hopes it isn't a problem.
I was wrong about there being a difference in the rear bars, the difference is in the front.
In reply to Keith Tanner :
Ahhh that's the reason, I was thinking getting the middle of the bar farther away from the link mounts might have some effect on performance. Thanks for solving that mystery! If the whiteline slides out of place I'll try some shaft collars.

Since you used the word "lowballer". Hit your local pick-n-pull with a tape measure and find a simple U-shaped bar you can cut the ends off of, then weld on whatever ends you would like. I made a front bar for a Challenge NB from a Ford Ranger bar......14 bucks.....
In reply to Shavarsh :
Nah, next guy that needs it.
It hasn't been on the car in at least 5 years, though the stock bar has been on and off the car several times in the same span.
I'll be keeping my eye out for your next posts for any events you run!
Eibach original Spec Miata rear bar(I believe) from back in the beginning of the class. Compared to stock NA in previous picture.
lotusseven7, is the spec bar also 16mm?
For those following along, here is a stock bar, Flyin Miata bar, and Whiteline bar
The Whiteline bar fits and will work for my non-standard application. One strange feature is the shaft collars (1 piece) look like they were put on before powder coating, probably before bending. There are some gaps in the powder coating between the collars and the bar, hopefully it wont rust in this area. Thanks for all of the interest and help on this everyone!
