Dang , sucks I missed it. lots going on for work. will join soonest, even it just to prove slowest lap time.
What was that Ferrari you mentioned the other night Dean? I can find it and make it a bit easier for others to download.
I don't know how quickly we want to go down the road of requiring download cars and tracks, but if we are interested in the older, lower powered cars, the Touring Car Legends Pack is a super interesting choice. I am not sure how balanced they are are, but that we can test. I am also a fan of Mid Ohio for a course (or even Riverside if we want a bit more classic).
As a tease (a lot of variation in these):
TC 60's pack: Austin Healey 3000, Lotus Cortina, Ford Fairlane, Ford Mustang, Hillman Imp, Jaguar mkII, MG-A, MG-B GT, Mini Cooper, Toyota 2000GT
TC 70's pack: Porsche 911RS 2.7, Alfa GTA, Alpine A110, AMG 300SEL, BMW2002, Datsun 510, Ford Escort, Mazda RX3
Also, I wanted to note my rather severe disappointment in the model of the RUF Yellowbird. It drives like a car with the stability control stuck on! Taking a Yellowbird into a high speed corner and having it plow off the outside of the track.... uh, no... In looking it up, I see a lot of complaints about how hard it is to drive and how it spins so easy(!). I suspect they "addressed" some of the complaints of the initial release by putting a GranTourismo type tune in it. I remember we noted, at least, some pretty strange camber settings.
I might have to give one of these packs a try:
BTCC http://assettomods.com/btcc-mod-v2-0-march-2020/
Trans Am Legends http://assettomods.com/transam-legends-2-0-march-2020/
V8 Supercars http://assettomods.com/v8-supercars-2018/
When I was in college I recall a roommate and I had F1 '99-02 and two of the mods for it were ETCC and V8 Supercars. Both of those were a ton of fun. Sim racing on a PC back then was impressive even though we were rocking 4:3 screens and steering wheels that had like 180deg of movement. Even the most basic setup today would make that look like a joke.
AssettoMods has some very good packs. I installed the ATCC pack. I think most (some?) of their packs are performance balanced also. Plenty of ready to go series on there.
The TransAm pack is great. I run those at Riverside occasionally, makes for a very classic look. The Mustang in there makes for an interesting duel with a Yenko Stinger on a tighter track.
In terms of duels, I am thinking figuring out how to make a classic Cobra vs Corvette might be interesting.
It looks like I can enable the shader patch and the SOL weather for replays / pics. Of note: It seems like it's easier / better to use the Picture Mode app (in the sidebar) during the replay rather then going to the pic mode (which can be very hard to adjust)
Some pics from 2 weeks ago:
Some pics of Dean and I messing around this week in what is clearly a wintery Nurburg:
An old replay of mine with a Stinger and some TransAm eye candy:
Another shot I took of the classic touring cars. The shots tend to be either over exposed or have a bit too much contrast (in the shadows). I bet I can figure out a Photoshop adjustment macro that will make these a bit more realistic. Getting shots out of AC is way easier than from the Playstation / PC2. I suspect videos should be easy also.
OK, How about we try the Ferrari Dean is talking about after we mess around a bit with the cars Dean has in there now? I guess Dean could just add it to the list that's on there now. Lots of stuff to play with. We can compare it to the PC2 version. The link below should jump to a download page for the car. This car is pretty impressive in PC2.
Suggested (included in AC base and also familiar tracks in PC2): Circuito del Mugello - Spa Francorchamps - Silverstone Circuit (Bridgehampton is likely way to bouncy bouncy for this car).

If you want to peruse some very impressive car mods (mostly classics), check out the links section of this site: https://thracing.de/ Lots of potential race series there also. If we want to go super old, these would be an interesting try: https://perendinator.blogspot.com/2019/03/spa-francorchamps-faux-pre-war.html
Nevermind I got it I forgot to update the server content. I think the server looks at my car content in the game directory and then I have to update the server and it copys the car file over to the content folder in the server content folder
Just took the 333SP it for a "spin".
1. Needs a bigger Track
2. It will kill you if you ar not carful (what makes it fun)
3. The Engine sounds are fantastic!!!
4. After a lap or three it was getting the hang of it. You can really toss it around allot more than you think you can however I suspect that smooth is fast. bit it is fun to dirt track it through some of the corners.
I will be traveling on buisness and won't be home until late. I would be up for somthing Wednesday unless we do the PC2 stuff. I will leave the server up with the mess of cars so if you all want to use it and mess around with the cars you can have at it. I will see about putting up say 3-4 of each type of car so you all have choices.
FYI, I did find that there is a console (press the 'home' button your keyboard) and some server commands you can do from in game. They seem pretty limited, but I wonder if other server software expands this list. It is nice in theory because it means others can mess with this if the server admin is not around.
