I was trying to detune the RX7 I found, which is harder than you think.
It may be a case where we just bump the power in the 944-cup car a little and call it good. I started running 1:55's in the RX and through careful power reduction of the power curve so as to not change the car's dynamic I pulled it up to mid to upper 1:58s. I need to re-test the 944 and see its times. I think I was running 2:00 dead as the best lap so maybe add a little to the 944 and we could have some relatively even cars. I need to replace the tires on the RX7 as the tire model on it is very old.
I will see about uploading the RX I have been working on to the Google drive and see what you all think. Another option is to just add some weight to it but I hate to do that. I would rather work with either the turbo boost or the power numbers.
So what is the plan this week? Start the Porsche series? I will be comming in cold as I am away so no practice or set up.
We can go with the 1500 or the 356 or? We will also need a track.
Any volunteers to put together a track list?
We have not tested the 917
There was also the little open wheel car we tested. Is that on the table?
When we talked about driving the 917, nobody wanted to drive it. Let's just use the 944 cup cars and pick a track
Here is 4 weeks:
944 Cup @ VIR
944 Cup @ Mid Ohio
944 Cup @ Watkins Glen
944 Cup @ Summit Point
Those are all tracks that the east coast 944 Cup runs on the east coast.
Air is going to have to come up with some new art!!!
So spec 944 cup cars. Should be fun. They are good cars!!!
The question is will the tune be locked in the 944 or will be allow tuning?
Whatever is currently open on the UGRM 944 Cup (I don't think its much). I can open up some of the ranges if needed (tire pressure, toe).
Also I put an update for the 944 and RX7 up on the drive (and posted in Discord). They are pretty well balanced, but I still want to do further testing before considering a series with either. The RX7 now has the TII Body with the wheels from the "tuner" car. I spent a bunch of time fixing textures and I believe the only ones I have left to fix are the instrument cluster - then create a canvas for some racecar style graphics instead of solid colors or tuner crap.
Whoa. You are getting really good at modding these cars!!!
Colin did you get the shirt?
That was good racing last night. I was so slow at that track.
And to make it official there is another T shirt up for grabs for the winner.
I would HC this series at 4. Why not?
Retired the G27 and put the G29 on the pc. What a huge difference!!! There was something wrong with my G27. I suspect I broke the brake peddle. The other interesting thing is I was using the Logitech profiler as the driver/controller for the wheel. With the G29 I am running it through GHUB. It seems to work much better.
Now I need to reconfigure all the settings but so far it is much better.
Updated results with HC.... gotta slow that Colin down....
Probably 25 or 30 kg. In that range. What do you think?
I am going to try a modified HC system. BUT This means we will hopefully be running this series for more than 4 races. OR we could change over to the RX7 after 4 races but carry the HC with us.
Anyway here is my proposal. We start at a 30KG for HC #1 and decrease it by 5KG as you increase in HC level untill we get to an add of 10KG and we keep adding 10KG after you reach a total HC of 100KG
1 HC = 30kg
2 HC = 55kg
3 HC = 75kg
4 HC = 90kg
5HC = 100kg
6HC and above we just keep adding 10KG Per HC
I want to try this as there is a turning point with every car that when you add that big HC the car falls off a cliff performance-wise. I always thought this was not optimal. I am hoping that this prevents this while still slowing the leaders down but in a more controlled manner.
What do you all think of this idea?
We also need to agree on how HC is removed. Unless someone says otherwise I am going with if you finish in 4th or lower you get one HC removed.
A DNS does not remove HC.
I am testing tonight on the server to get the feel of my new wheel and peddles.

Sounds interesting, I'm curious to see how it works. That said, I'm out this week as I'll be in Air's neck of the woods* for work.
*disclaimer: Cali is a big state, no idea if where I'll be is in any way close to him.
If I remember Air is in southern Cali
