The snow seasonal got me thinking...can you run dirt and snow events online? Might be fun to mess around with tonight, just throw dirt or ice tires on the spec miatas.
I took a street tuned evo and switched to ice tires for the seasonal, worked well. Ill have to send you a fr kazoo I was looking for your times earlier. Im right between spool and chimp.

Yeah, you can run the rally tracks online.

you can, but it's not as fun as it sounds. The car in front makes a huge cloud of snow/dirt and the following cars can't see E36 M3. It usually turns into a demo derby when cars get anywhere near each other.

This snow seasonal is a pain in the ass.
I gotta shave 8 seconds off my time to get gold, and I'm not sure how I'm going to do it.
Down to 4 now, still bronze though. Might be using the wrong evo
In reply to Grizz:
Apparently i used the wrong evo as well. had to add full ballast and drop HP to get to the event PP. I found the most time by trusting the car and going full throttle through most corners, using the 4WD to point the car where I needed to go. It feels wrong at first, but it worked. Rally suspension helped too.

I was using the wrong Evo. I switched from the X to the best Evo ever, the III and boom, gold with no problem.
Actually faster than you and Chimp, but I had cheating recovery force on so it doesn't count

For the record, I just set a lap with a controller and quit, so that's my excuse
Also I almost never do rally for some reason, and therefor I suck at it.

I never do, so i'm not used to it. I can't control it. A lot of times I would try to countersteer a little and it would shoot me off in the opposite direction!
Also I suck at rally, that's part 2 of my driver's excuse.
I like rally with a controller. That's what I set my new time with on the EVO seasonal.

OK, Suzuka is probably my least favorite track, so (because) I suck at it. I only spent about 15 minutes giving the Light Rocket TT a try last night, but DAMN, I have absolutely no berking clue how you guys carry that much speed. I'm used to lagging a tad, but by the short track / long track split, you guys had left me for dead and disappeared over the horizon. And the front half of that track is my GOOD half!
How the berk do you do it?
Being on a wheel really helps with that particular car where you need small smooth inputs. Changing the diff settings on acceleration (in the 15 range) allowed me to get on the fun pedal earlier without the tail swinging out.
I tried to run that one with little to no modifications to the car...it just wasn't happening for me. I had to add power to get up to the PP limit just to keep up with everyone else. Also race trans if only to adjust the top speed, you'll need more with more HP. I think I just ran Race Soft suspension, and Spool's right about the diff settings.
Suzuka is one of my favorite tracks but I do have a hard time wringing the most speed out of the Rocket.

Thanks for the tips. I was running a stock car with oil change. I had noticed the low top end and assumed I would need to add the trans, but I didn't figure it would need much else. I made bronze, but no way I am getting silver or better without a lot of work and modifications.
Trans, diff, race soft s'penshun, add HP to get to the PP limit was my formula for that one (and for nearly everything else I run).
I tend to do the same thing: Run the race and wonder why I am so much slower then everyone else. Then I check and see that there is a PP limit on the car so I have to add mods to bring it up to that level.
I very much prefer the full stock challenges (seems like they are moving away from those). I'd rather spend my time driving then tuning.
I hope the first DLC has the Alpha 4c in it. I'm in love after watching this.

Looks great. Sadly, I didn't hear mention of the price point on the real thing, so I assume it will be reserved for
Maybe not, but it's about the same price as a new corvette
New seasonals are out. Dave, go clean house on the Elise challenge!
Seems like they really ramped up the difficulty for the challenges, which is nice. Of course they are allowing tuning, which I don't like.
The Elise is pretty crazy, lot's of gription. Not sure if I like the race tire grip, it's pretty strange. Maybe it's just the sound.
For those that don't know, the Ghia / Willow Springs challenge will cost you 1 mill for the car and only return 600,000 with full bonus. The car has a crazy high RPM engine (for the time) and some wildly high gearing (over 100 mph in second).

I have just the car for it!
I also prefer the arrive-and-drive seasonals.
I was geeked to see the Elise seasonal. One of my favorite cars to play with and I'm really starting to like the track as well. I got gold in about an hour (pretty quick for me). All in all, a good evening racing.
Unfortunately, before I logged out, on a whim I checked friend's times and saw Spool had me by a cool 5.7 seconds.
I like the stock car seasonals too.
I am also unsure of the race tires. They feel weird after using SS for a while. I know they are grippier, but I have less confidence with them for some reason. Maybe it's the fast breakaway of the tire.

Get it for free in the Goodwood challenges. The race trans does wonders for the gearing.
I'm still stuck on the stupid G37 seasonal, but I want that damn paint. It's a nice car, but I'm pretty sure it has no business being on the Streets o' Willow.
I can also say, out of the three new ones, the Diablo is the worst. I don't know what their obsession is with sticking an overpowered car on E36 M3ty tires but it's freaking annoying.
