I am probably out this Wednesday as well due to business.
Ran a few laps last night, I really need to learn this track. It's fun but takes some getting used to and my existing setups need some tweaking to match the course. For preliminary pace on hard tires I would expect, once the setup is dialed in, 44's in race trim, 43's for qualifying. Haven't played with Softs yet so there might be more qualifying time out there, but with the track temps it'll be tough to keep them in their happy zone.
Since I am probably not going to make the race I think I will work on a set up for the BMW for brad. See if I can make something that works like the Bentley. I will set it up for either brands or last weeks track sicne I know them well. This track I dont know at all. I ran some laps and the elevation change looks like fun.
What is the simulated race starting time set to?
Ran a few practice laps on the bmw and the Aston with minor tweaks on both. Current pace after about an hour of learning the track my pace with driving aids set to authentic is around 1:52. When i set up a race with the series settings of AI 75/25 they were qualifying around 1:50-1:52 between 2 races.
Need to work on my consistency and tune the suspension to not eat my right front tire in 3 laps on softs. Only tested hards for a few laps but I suspect temps will creep up on them too with the amount of tight right hand turns, just not as quickly.

My tune is good. I just need to manage the tires better at the start. This round should be on hards, so that’ll change a lot of things.

1300.
Based on track temperature, I'm not even messing around with softs.
You all know I would have to try the soft tires. Surprisingly the Bentley seems to be good on both tire ware and temps.

At what pace? I tried softs and when pushing relatively hard they would overheat in 3-4 laps.
I don't know I ran 5-6 laps and was not having any issues BUT I am not up to speed with the track yet fully. The Bentley just does not seem to eat tires. Driving style???? Or setup???
I did an online race at Algarve last night. It was 10 laps with a mandatory pit stop. Qualified 5th. Got into 3rd on the 2nd lap. Decided to hold off on my pit to late in the race thinking some of the folks would drop out as the race went on. Started with 12 drivers ended with 8, so that was ok strategy I think. Pitted on lap 9 from P2 and then found that manual pitstops were on. Managed to stop at the wrong pit. Sat there for a few seconds wondering why the dudes were just standing there before I realized my pit was another good bit ahead. Ended up finishing 4th, but less than a second off of P3. The top 3 finishers all had fast laps in 1:43s where my best lap was in the 46s. I couldn't find out where the extra seconds were because the fastest guy was too far ahead after T3 of lap 1 and the other guys all passed me while I was in the pits. Date was set to Jan and track temp was only 90F, so I should've changed to softs I guess.
For next series we should consider adding in mandatory pitstops just for the added 'strategery' they can offer.
In reply to T.J. :
This track is extremely punitive, you really need to be on the right line at the right point to get a quick time. At most tracks you have some leeway with line choices with minimal variations in time, but not here. The difference between me clipping the apex curb at T4 vs being at the edge of the curb is 3 tenths before T5.
Also, getting the car setup so it works well across the wide range of corners here is a challenge. I'm not happy with the feel yet, but can at least keep it on track and have reasonable pace.
Finally had a chance to deal with my ISP and they knew pretty much immediately what the problem was, but it's going to take 1-2 days for them to do their part and then I need to change some stuff on my router. Hopefully that will actually fix the problem and in time for Wednesday's race.

I hope you get things sorted for this week's race. As much as I don't really look forward to watching your taillights disappear off into the distance, I also don't like that you have missed races you practiced for because of an ISP issue.
I am going to be on in a bit. My out of town meeting was moved so I will be able to make it. I have zero practice at the moment and don’t know the track at all so I need to get some laps in.
Practice last night was fun. Getting to know the track. I tested soft tires and they just get to hot. Ware is not an issue at all. Engine temps are another issue that I need to manage as I am creeping up in to the 240 range so I think I will be having to open the vents a bit. I tried a high downforce set up and it was no faster than my normal setup. In the end I was only able to get a best lap of 1:47 with my averages being a second or more above that.
I might not make it tonight, I've got stuff to do.
If I do show it will be with zero prep. Which shouldn't be a problem... on a track I don't know... with lots of elevation changes... in a rear engined car...
If I do run, probably a good thing Dean doesn't show. I would probably take him out on the first lap.
I am 99.9 percent sure I am going to show unless I decide to make up some margaritas then I get home then who knows.

Also the track is very slippery... so that should help too.
Based on the replay, it looks like Argo punted Dean and you punted an AI Ferrari last week, but I didn't go back and watch it frame by frame.
My ISP got their end sorted this morning, I hope to try to do my end when I get home this evening. We'll see what happens, so I'm still a maybe.
If I do get in I think it'll be a good race. I can run fast in qualifying, but unlike other tracks my race pace is significantly slower. Should be fun.
Once the tires get up to temp the grip is good. With this being such a smooth track I was thinking of lowering the car some more
Unless I pull off a miracle I'm not going to make it. All I have managed to do so far is kick myself off the internet in entirety. I'm going to keep working, but not looking good.
You'll need to log in to post.
