Its 3:52 AM. Gettin ready to go the MI to pick up a bike. Guy came down $300 on it just cause i asked. haha We were gonna meet around Detroit but since its so freakin sketchy there we meeting elsewhere.
The bike is blue.
Any guesses on what the mystery bike is?
I know what it is, but CarKid's been stroking this one so long I won't ruin the surprise.
I think I know which one it is.

I hope it's that Blue SV650...
Went up almost 4 hours and bought a...
1999 Suzuki SV650
14,500 miles, new chain, new sprocket, just had an oil change, frame sliders, getting sent new clutch/brake levers, new rear tire.
Bike is gorgeous. I cannot believe it. My adrenaline is still going full throttle.

Those are cell phone pics sorry.
Took it for a quick spin tonight. Holeeeeyyy crap. Quick torquey bike. Love it so far.
Totally worth the trip, and headache and all.
Thanks for all your help!
Sweet! I was hoping it was that one. I payed the same for mine a year ago with 22,500 on it. Now it has 27,000mi
i paid less then asking price
How much did you get it for? Mine was 2300.
I haven't had time to ride much this year, I've been too busy with school to have any free time. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it

took the MSF class and glad i did. Got a good helmet. Just need a jacket now
Im so excited. I was shaking after i bought it haha
You done good, CarKId; congratulations! Get that jacket AND some good gloves and sturdy boots.
Always remember that every "cager" is out there to get you and never make presumptions on what drivers might do.
I'd be jealous, but I'm happier you found a good deal on a great bike!
Well bought. I looked at those new but the (at the time wife) said no. I need to look into one again.
The early SVs had the coolest frames. Reminds me of a Ducati trellis. Good job. Maybe I can have this forum help me find one of my own.
That bike looks AWESOME!! It just jumped to the front of my gotta get list!
Is it all stock? Or least the front end?
I didn't know the early SV's had such "naked bike" looking front ends.
I thought all early SVs were naked and the 1/2 faring didn't come until later.
Things i have learned/ little tid bits about this bike:
1) I would not recommend this bike for a new/newer rider. (lots of power, LOTS of torque, really quick response)
2) bike is super comfy. I think it was designed for me. The tank indents are right on and im comfy as a clam.
3) This bike has tons of grunt to it.
4) engine makes wonderful noises
In hindsight I remember a buddy in highschool having one with that frame and a open single headlight.
Apparently in 2000 the SV650S was introduced with the more rounded upper fairing, and then the pointy style came in 2003 with the new frame design.
