“Trying to make men’s clothing fit a woman’s body is usually not an easy task and can create feelings of not belonging, which may challenge one’s level of comfort and participation,” explains Kelly Franko, owner of Seraphina Safety Apparel. “Having gear that is designed for women can change that.
“As I am nearing almost 15 years spent in my own business of fitting women in undergarments,” she continues, “I have seen firsthand the boost of confidence that comes with a great fit. I transitioned into designing and manufacturing flame-resistant clothing for women three years ago, and I am still seeing the impact it makes.”
Her reasoning for expanding into motorsports clothing? “Knowing that something has been made for you, fit for you and will protect you best,” she replies, “promotes a level of confidence that breaks through personal barriers and creates a mindset and desire to go after more, achieve more and win more.”
