Forgot to mention the sweet badge... Seriously though, this car is everything I wish my Supra shapes into eventually, as far as quality of work is concerned. Well done Brian!
Giant, custom flares? Check. V8 engine swap? Check. Totally clean construction? Check, check, and check.
Brian Bergeron had a vision and a dream: create the ultimate wide-body Porsche 944. He calls it the Widerstandsfahig, and so far he’s built more than one.
“Would you believe that these cars were built with nothing fancier that a cordless drill?” he writes. “Or close, anyway: jigsaw, electric body saw, grinder, hand files, die grinder, drill, 40-amp MIG welder, table vise and your basic hand tools. The only pneumatic tool I use is the die grinder and very seldom.”
A little while back he picked up a drill press. “Spoiling myself,” he says. More DIY work: He painted this car in his garage, swapped in an LS6 engine, and designed–yes, designed–his own forged aluminum wheels.
He chronicled the construction of this one in our Builds and Project Cars forum. Just search for the thread titled “Porsche 944 Solo Xp build” or check out the garage of forum member Kniners.
