I don't think I've ever seen an 850 coupe before. That's really cool.

Not a coupe, just a hardtop on the 'vert. There is an 850 coupe but it looks very different.

This is what an 850 coupe looks like:
Wow, I was totally fooled by the hardtop.

I saw the first pic and thought, "Wow! A Fiat 850 that runs? I've never seen one of those!"
...and then I saw the second picture...

Nope. Factory. It is a Fiat 850 racer.
Why hasn't someone handed him $650 yet?

Not denying it was factory, just not a coupe. I suspected it was a racer, I've only ever seen one other in person and it's sitting in a junkyard near here. I just couldn't recall if the top was a bolt on or an actual coupe style, memory aint what it used to be. Car in the ad is a bolt on top. First car you posted has the top molded in, but I believe it was originally a bolt on on all of the racers, just some folks have welded and molded them in at this point.
And if it is a racer and has some of the rare racer emblems and trim bits you could sell them and recoup this down to zero probably.
Hypothetically, what are the chances of someone who is, say...6'1", 215 fitting inside one of these things?
How good are you at self-origami?

Depends on whether you puree him or just slice him.

The top is a bolt on piece but there are quite a few other panels that would have to be swapped around if one wanted to put the racer top on a spider. I have a book around here somewhere that tells exactly what you need to harvest.
IIRC the Racer had a 911ish back "seat" that the spider doesn't.
The Famous EMPI fiat was a racer

At 6' even, 215lbs and a 30" inseam, I fit into a spider with about 2" of headroom with the top up.
The seats do bolt directly to the floor. No chance of mounting them lower

twas this one that first made me think to combine this car with the engine and adapter combo and a VW transaxle that I posed up earlier :)
To me, that's screaming for a two-stroke snowmobile engine with expansion chambers sticking up through the deck like a pipe organ...
