About 10 years ago I built up an 89 turbo caravan. DOHC and manual trans conversion, heapload of spare parts. Put about 500 or so break in miles.

I have given up on getting a title for the van and am not motivated enough to stick this engine in another project. It needed fine tuning and fiddling, but not worth it in a vehicle which I can't get the title. The engine was rebuilt, the turbo was rebuilt. The ebay purchased exhaust manifold needs planed, it came warped and leaks (imagine that..) I only got into boost a hand full of times, limited to 5psi for breakin, and it seemed to smoke a little. It could be the non turbo PCV setup, it could be the rebuilt by me turbo, or it could have been dumping fuel. The rebuild was thorough, idled with 17-19" vacuum, idled smooth.

If you intend to use this in a challenge car, the price will be amazing. If not, I will try to part it out.

The parts are located in northern PA; about an hour south of Waltkins Glen raceway. I live in central PA, within an hour of state college or 2 hours of Pittsburgh. I have family in WilkesBarre and Philly. All of these areas could have delivery, if able to coordinate schedules. Otherwise, this is pick up only, no shipping.

The down and dirty: asking $500 for challenge entrants.

89 2.5 long block. Rebuilt with reman crank, new pistons, all new bearings (including dist shaft and pinion bearings), new rings. High flow oil pump with mopar performance oil pressure spring. 2.4 DOHC head with neon 2.0 DOHC cams. Head gone through with new valve seals, clean up (valves re-seated, runners cleaned not ported). FWD performance swap adjustable cam gears. Big (magnecore maybe?) wireset with brass points. Few spare distributors and pickups. Flow control valve for head. Ebay weld-el manifold (warped, needs planed). Ballance shafts removed and plugged. Remote mount oil filter using summit bracket on block (needs clocked properly) and GM blazer 3980 type filter block. NAPA heavy hydraulic hose. Poly performance front motor mount. I nicked the timing belt removing the engine (pictured), so It will need a new one, but I changed all the seals and gaskets in the engine, head, and trans with rebuild.

a523 trans. '93 I believe. FWD performance clutch kit (think TIII pressure plate and performance clutch) in good shape.

Holset HY-35w. I rebuilt myself, unsure if done perfectly. (I may have torqued the shaft, it is reverse thread...) but clean with new bearings!

Minivan specific shifter, cables, clutch/brake combo with clutch cable and bracket.

89 ECU, stock. 89 ECU socketed. Spare 89 ECU that is bad (throws a code 53 or something terminal) Good 89 caravan engine bay wiring harness. Spare 89 caravan turbo engine wiring harness which had the relay bank cut off (relative easy repair). Spare flex fuel injectors and stainless rail(+20 % or so). 3 bar map sensor I made from digikey parts, never tested.

The world's worst 4 to 3" downpipe.

Bonus parts if you get the shell before my dad sends it to the junkyard; sweet leather seats, probably have had mice in the padding but surfaces nice. The minivan specific manual trans shifter mount ( I welded it in..not motivated to cut. not esential for minivan shifter install) A in tank Wallbro 200 (or whatever is close, dont remember) performance fuel pump. Visor. Push bar. Towing mirror. 3" towing bar thingy. Custom cut rubber mat for rear. 3 15" white powdercoated snowflake and one lace wheel. Rusty! 89 caravan shell, no PA title!

I am sure there are more bits I am forgetting. I'm not in a hurry to sell, I am just being realistic that I'm done with turbo dodge stuff.

Wow. That's a whole lot of stuff that I would love to have under the hood of my CSX. My money tree still hasn't bloomed yet though, so I'm out.

If this had a title, I'd be on the way with a trailer (that I don't have)right now. If you can remove all the shifter and clutch pedal parts necessary to convert an automatic car, I will pay good money. Assuming nobody wants the shell, that is.

If this had a title I would be driving it.

All the parts to convert an auto to MTX are included with the pile of turbo dodge crap. Already removed. As a neat mod the park neutral ECU pin can be used for high boost mode on a hacked ECU, I had a big button planned..

There is a simple bracket with studs which bolts to the shifter base which I am leaving in the van (as I welded it in, better than factory). It is not necessary to have the bracket, you could just use bolts and washers, and I am not motivated enough to cut it out. If you buy all this crap before the shell gets scrapped you are more than welcome to try to cut that out. Or just take the whole damn van for that one piece.

The shifter base, cables, shifter, console, brake and clutch pedal, rod, clutch cable and stupid clutch cable bracket are all piled taking up space inside my fathers garage.

Make a decent offer on the minivan trans crap/spare parts and I will throw in the engine!

BUMP!

This pile of turbo mopar treasures takes up too much space.

If someone doesn't make an offer I will part it out. I will end up with more $ than one sale but it will be a PITA.

I also think I have a 2.5 SOHC head/intake/manifold somewhere, can be thrown in amongst any extra turbo dodge/k car part I can find.

Please make an offer

Do you still have all of it? If so can you get some pics of the body?

I have the pile of TD stuff. The Van shell is stripped and has no title.

The shell is still sitting there for now, sorry can't get pics of body this month; has rear dog leg rot, prevalent surface rust. Dents and dings everywhere. Not a great shell, but not the worst from the north.

The shell will disappear when I tow it to a scrap yard (not going to happen soon) or whenever my father decides to tow it to a scrap yard. It is not local to me. It has already been stripped.

Thanks, Mike
