Hello everyone! Southern Mustangs Car Clubs and TracksUnlimited.net would like to invite everyone out to our 1st annual Austin Hatcher Foundation Charity Poker Run. If you are not familiar with the foundation please go check it out: Hatcher Foundation This is a childrens cancer charity. If you are like me once you read the story of Jim and Amy Osborn you to will be moved to join our cause to help fight cancer. This is not a "Ford" only poker run. It for anyone with the love of the open road and cars! Imports, Domestics whatever you drive YOU are welcome to help us fight Childhood cancer!

We invite all of you to join us Saturday April 10th at Motorsport Legends in Cleveland Tn at 8am to begin the Poker Run. It will be a breath taking ride through the most beautiful mountain roads in East Tn and North Carolina. Ending at Mountview Bistro at Fontana Village. $20 entry fee per person/hand. You can buy as many hands as you want. The game will be 5 card draw. Best hand will win $100!!!

Route:

We will wind our way from Cleveland Tn at 8:45am to the BiLo parking lot in Etowah Tn. This will be the staging point for the the people from Knoxville area. This will be our first card draw.

We will drive from Etowah South on HWY 411 to Hwy 310 to Tellico Plains.

We will then take a Hwy 165 and stop for our second card at the Cherohala Market 1/2 mile on the right after you turn on 165. Perfect spot to fuel up or grab a snack or a disposable camera.

Then its on to the Skyway!! The most Beautiful landscape in the south. We will be stopping at several overlooks along the road. Feel free to stop whenever you like. We will stop at Turkey Creek Overlook for the third card of the day.

Our next Turn will be left onto Santeetlah Rd, Left onto NC rd 1134, Left onto NC rd 1147, Left onto Hwy 129 towards Tapoco.

Our next stop will be the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. This will be our forth card stop. Fill free to take a few minutes and look around.

Take a right out of the park onto hwy 129 and head towards The Dragon!! But we are not going that way!! Gotcha! take a right onto hwy 28 towards Fontana. (rock slide has closed the dragon until further notice.)

Hang a right into Fontana Village(dont miss the gas station on the way out) Head toward the Mountview Bistro. (follow signs) This will be our last stop and last card draw. We will award the prize during lunch!

Ok for those of you who haven't had enough, we are going to continue to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge by way of Cherokee NC For those of you from the Atlanta area this will be your quickest way home back down the Blue Ridge Parkway. For those of you going to Gatlinburg we will be taking Hwy 441 over the mountain to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge Tn where we plan to spend the night. Dinner, put put golf and of course GO KARTS!! NASCAR 5/8 scale go karts as a matter of fact!!! Fun for everyone!!

ALSO this is the week before Rod Run so there will be a lot of Hot Rods and Show Cars in Pigeon Forge so lots of eye candy for you Gear Heads!!

If you plan to stay the night Go Ahead and let us know by 3.19.2010 so we can hold the rooms at a group rate of $79+tax. We must have ten rooms to get this discount. HOTEL

The Dragon is NOT closed! You just can't get through to the rest of TN that way. Lack of TN access has the traffic WAAAAY down. Take the right and enjoy the road without fear of semis!

By the way, this is a good cause. The Osborns are friends of ours, and a few of Jim's World Challenge cars have been featured in our magazine.

x100000000 The Osborns do a lot in our area. We fill the need to help them out with their fight against cancer in children. Any help they can get goes along way.

UPDATE: It's official - Dragon is blocked off at the state line. TDOT now saying slide will be cleared on March 26, but some estimates are that it will continue to be closed until July or August.The TN governor has decided not to accept North Carolina's help with law enforcement and emergency services and instead has decided to close the road entirely from the rockslide south to the state line.
