Fairly simple, the exotic and/or unobtanium stuff is for another list...

Jag XJS V12 with a manual trans. Possibly a 'vert.

Early round headlight Subaru Brat, complete with rumble seats.

1980ish 911sc. When the motor goes it gets an SVX flat6

Don't tell me that. I already have two cars and I share one parking place with my roommate's car. Three cars, one spot. Also, I'm in college and oh so poor. Maybe one day...

I'm happy to say my recent 944S, Starion, and Elan have all been ticks off the 'always wanted one' list. Still on the list are a 1st gen MR2, a 2nd gen MR2, a slant nose 911 turbo, a modern Pontaic GTO/Monaro VXR, and a "Mango" TE27 Corolla SR5. After that the list starts getting into stuff like the Renault Alpine A310 GT and the Noble M12 which aren't really practical asparations.

Here's my list...I thought I might be the only nut for a couple of these (denoted with a *) but was happy to see I'm not alone (as in, others have posted them above):

Pinto/Bobcat (the oldscool "bulging" headlight ones), preferably non-wagon.
Roundbody Ford Falcon* (post or hardtop).
Foxbody Mercury Capri. Four-eyes FTW! (V8 and standard trans evenutally, of course).
Foxbody Notchback four-eye. I would hapily retro-four-eye an '87 and up model.*
Foxbody Fairmont (NON-futura) 2 door or possibly wagon (A mustang in sheeps' clothing).
    944 or 928 P-car.
'78-up Malibu 2 door (or possibly wagon...already had an elcamino).
Impala SS (most likely a 9C1 Clone).
'63 Chevy Fullsize 2 door (biscayne, BelAire, Impala).
'78-up Olds Cutlass Supreme 2 door with 455, done up with Grand National inspiration.
    Sunbeam Tiger *.
    Aircooled Bug. *
Subaru Brat. * I'd call it "brat" as in bratwurst.

More to be added when I dig them out of dormant regions of my psyche. Clem

It can get dangerous once you target a car that you desire. I had a yearning for a Fox body 5.0 Mustang convertible with 5 speed and started keeping my eye out.

First one I found was an 84 GT 2.3 turbo convertible!! Had the wrong motor so I went searching and changed my itch to an SVO. Maybe a T-Bird turbocoupe...got one for the motor but it was too much fun just driving. Bought 2 more just for the parts.

Desire for a small truck led me through 3 Ranger trucks and rubbed off on a buddy who is working on his V8 Ranger as his dream.

My search for a truck also found another dream truck... 1965 ford F-350 4 door. Got 2 of those now1

One of my Ranger hunts found a cheap 1991 Capri XR2 turbo...that introduced me to the 1.6 motor that lead inevitably to...Miata!! Got one of those for cheap also.

While I have changed my target cars over the years and found most (60 bugeye, Myers Manx, RX-7, 69 Mustang convertible, and others) the 2 that have eluded me for varous reasons are... 1968 Shelby Mustang Lotus Elise

    Subaru BRAT, definitely.

    Oh, and Miata.

The mid-life classic car I see myself buying? A Volvo 145, or maybe an 1800ES.

The one car I'd like to have back is the 87 CRX Si I sold about 6 years ago.

2 aircooled porsches that have been in my wish list are a 914 and/or an 80's 911 Carerra. Parts and service prices are what always put me off from a purchase. I reconcile my need for speed and need for cheap with.... (drumroll)....a Miata.

Miata (this will happen as soon as i have a garage AND a driveway, or 3 cars worth of garage)

    66 mustang fastback, 289 4-speed

    323 GTX awd + turbo = fun!

legacy GT wagon (almost bought an 05 but got the ms3 instead)

first gen pathfinder 4x4 - nearly bulletproof and cheap off-roader

Edit: i forgot one - E39 M5. the prices are coming down, saw 99's for around 20k last i looked

Here's my list in no particular order:

-Ferrari 308 (GTB or GTS, prefer GTB)

    -Lamborghini Urraco

-a good Lanica Stratos replica (probably not realistic) from these guys

-a good GT40 replica (also probably not realistic)

    -Ferrari 308 GT4 Dino

    -Early NSX

-SW20 MR2 turbo (with sunroof or hardtop)

    -914/6

    -Ferrari Mondial (hardtop)

    -AW11 MR2 (again please no T-tops)

    -Starquest

-Dodge "Turbo Interceptor" from The Wraith (OK pure fantasy)

-Homebuilt replica of the Mustang I concept car complete with correct Tanus V4 engine

I could go on and on.

    • All with no modifications

    1993 Mustang Cobra

1969 Camaro SS in nice shape

Shelby GT-350 (That may be a bit pricey)

    E30 M3

    E36 M3

Viper R/T 10 (they're really not THAT expensive - honestly!)

C4 Corvette 1994 and up (that might be next)

    BMW M Roadster (2001 or 2002)

    Mini Cooper S (current generations)

Some sort of decent F-250 and a trailer

I hate trying to find good unmodified cars. You look at all of the listings for a 1993 Mustang GT for example. They might even have a description of "Stock Mustang GT" for example, but they're all modified. "AND NOW FOR THE LIST OF MODS, YO". I don't want a Mustang with a 351, 3.73:1 gears, NOZ, 5 lug conversion with "COBRA R wheels, dawg", headers, catless H-Pipes, and glass packs.

Having a company car is a mixed blessing. It negates the need for a daily driver. Most people think this is a plus. To me, it's one less cool car I get to own.

64-65 Ford Falcon -or- 67-68 Mustang (I'd drive either one daily, year round, if I lived outside the rust belt) Porsche 911SC, 68-70 Javelin (assuming the supply of Mustangs and Falcons dried up), Datsun 240/260/280Z, Jeep Wrangler, Ford Capri 2.6

BMW 635 CSI.. perferably a gray market M car. Even before I was "into" BMWs, I always wanted one of those massive sharknosed coupes..

I also want a nice Merkur.. one of those will probably be my next car.

A Fiat Dino would be nice too.. love the spider, but there is something very nice about the coupe'

And I want another 72 911. I miss my old one
