An interesting view of the sub engine+trany On the template, curiously, the tranny's end seems to be more higher
Not the best picture for getting the look but I would like to see a kit along these lines.

RS200 IMSA car version or regular RS200 either one would be nice.

I put attention to other's opinion only if they can help improve my design to be better. On my last design, I was comfused what need to do on the side area. When other give me advices, I found he has better idea and I take it. Let see what I can do with my New Cobra soon!
Anyone else seen this yet?
I think EVERY concept posted in this forum looks much better. I am guessing that FF are planning on pricing it slightly less than $175,000 as well.
i've been following this since the beginning, but just now signed up. i gotta say i love the xabier design, but it would be really cool to have the NXXN car. i'm working on a sketch that i tried to render with google sketchup. i can't make it look like what i'm picturing so my submission will be all pencil and paper
Here are some more accurate drawings from Konstantinos, soon I will try to post my version too. Generally we are in the part where we finalize our 2 entries

BipDBo wrote: In reply to arif: It's a beautiful car, no doubt with a lot of inspiration from Ferrari, but I don't like it nearly as much as the Cobra design. For this one, you seemed to have focused much more on drawing a beautiful car, but less on the function. It has nice lines, which complement each other very well. It just doesn't look like the 818 to me. The 818 shouldn't look like a V12 supercar, but should rather be very minimalist, like the Lotus 211. It will have a high, probably exposed roll bar, and may not have a windshield. If it has doors, they will likely not be very big because the space frame will be high on the sides. I think that it is a safe assumpton that the 818 will use donor WRX wheels for cost reasons. If they are to be changed, they should probably be smaller at least in front, but no larger. Your wheels look a bit larger than the WRX wheels. Designers usually oversize wheels, but engineers usually bring the size down again because not only are wheels expensive and heavy, but they have both linear and rotational enertia, so saving mass at the wheels has a double benefit. The 818 will likely use a single radiator in front center. I liked your Cobra design better, which brought the air right into the radiator, and exhausted up through the hood, which minimized drag and maximized downforce. There seems to be more area of intake than exhaust, and I think that this should be reversed, otherwise, air will need to escape out the bottom of the car, which is not good. I do like the rear fender intakes, which can be easily ducted to the top mounted intercooler. Also, the 818 will likely have a single exhaust since the WRX has a single turbo.
Thanks a lot for such valuable explaination. Here the outcome, I just alter the shape of my previos design.

I don't have formal education in car design too, but I have some experiences building custom car from fiberglass. I learn everything by autodidact, so I like to listen people commenting, suggest me something and so on. Btw, I have to say I am not 100% satisfy with my design, sometime I need to know what other opinion.
The car will be targa which means that it will have a removable hard top. Maybe we will find a way to store it somewhere in the back or in the front so you will be able to have it with you all of the time. here is a sketch of our other proposal:

If you provide me your email I'll be gladly to send you what I have done to your car. Hope you don't mind. It was a 7 minute photoshop changes. Once you get the images please post it here.OK, here my email: arif_concept@hotmail.com
Well, check this:
I have removed the windshield and put rollbar just like Lotus 211. I don't want to change the back, I like as it is. I think much better now.

You should, I'd like to see it.
I think Factory Five should do another press release in May to be picked up by all the blogs and online media outlets. A last push for creative designs before the contest ends. It may expand exposure for the project a bit more.
Can't wait for the interior design competition, which I'm hoping to be next.

I like that idea a lot. I'm really hoping this car, while being really light, will have room for overnight bags and luggage like a Porsche Boxster/Cayman. I hope there will be room for 2 helmets as well. Like the new Lancia Stratos "kit-car".
It doesn't necessarily have to be in the interior of the car, but a storage somewhere for 2 helmets and and overnight bag, or two would be nice.
It would also be a fun car to take to the grocery store from time to time. Just to be different. (I've seen Ferrari's at grocery stores before, always fun, and the owners enjoy taking their cars out to run errands.)
Very nice! So timeless. 10 years from now this car will still look great! To much holes, slots, vents, and etc..makes the design look clady. Great job...massage some more and keep going. The over all design and proportion looks good.,In reply to arif:
In reply to arif: That looks like the 818. I like the side a lot better. I did like the smooth hood of the first version of this car better, but that's just my personal styling preference. I do want to point out, though, that you added intake area to the nose. the first version looked to have about the right area, just in the wrong place for a single radiator. The front intakes on either side have no outlet for which the air to exit. Even if you added outlets behind the front wheels, the air will produce less drag going around the car rather than through it. Air intake equals drag. The GM engineers knew this when they designed the Cruze with motorized intake louvers in the front grill that would close when less air was needed to the radiator. This shaved a couple mpgs at highway speed. Look at the size of the intake on the Daytona coupe which serves the radiator for a V8. It is much smaller. The contest winner for last week has intake all over the front end which makes it look aggressive, but gives it the aerodynamics of a parachute. In short, I would recommend that you keep the center intake and delete the intakes on either side.
so here are some more final ones for our 2 proposals, thanks for the comments again, you are always very helpfull
