I'm surprised no one has discussed the Flip Car from F&F.

3 seater Locost middie with a difference.

Anyone seen any specs or a story on it?

No, this isn't fake at all!

WAIT! Howd that old thing get in here?

The proper term is ... "Semi-Aquatic egg-laying mammal of action". :-p

Aka.. Platypus

Doobie doobie doobah. Doobie doobie doobah.

It was really used. Of course the actual flips were done with an attached rail, the ramp on the front is lower than the front tires, so the first genuine attempt at flipping a car would be somewhat catastrophic.

Jalopnik did a decent segment on it. Lots of proper engineering.

I don't know, but it appears that at least one set of tires in that first pic is on backwards.

The proper term is ... "Semi-Aquatic, egg-laying mammal that lacks nipples, has venom that contains backwards (D) amino acids, ten sex chromosomes (none of which ever has the SRY gene that causes male traits in mammals) ". :-p Aka.. Platypus

Not enough protection for my head. That little kick ramp would have to be WAY more substantial.

Yeah, that pneumatic actuator would obviously never work. It would work if they had used it to actuate a self-locking cam...shouldn't be hard to retrofit.

Do you have a link?

The first thing I noticed in the movie was that the tires were higher than a ramp so any flips would destroy the tires and wreck the flipper car.

a) I'm to old to have worried about the sanctity of this song (I'd honestly never heard it before this)

b) A conversation is always improved by a discussion of nipples.
