Found this at my storage place yesterday. Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics. What the hell is it? I can tell you it has a V8 in the engine bay, I'm assuming not original. Couldn't find any identifying badges anywhere on it.
bejeebers. looks vaguely renault caravelleish - been a while since I saw one.
actually take that back, just yanked my copy of PC out of my backpack - looks nothing like the caravelle on the cover!
IDK, but those guys over on the HAMB would be fighting each other like a bunch of school-girls in a pool full of jello for it!
I think I saw one at a vintage race weekend in 1999 at Mosport. I know I've seen a couple of the newer ,"Corvair" styled ones racing, too.
I had forgotten what the badge said, but y'all are correct, NSU was on the front badge. I can't confirm the year, but I can confirm that this is definitely a challenge-ready money pit.

+1 for you and DrBoost. I've seen what Anglias do with a V8 on a drag strip and I don't think I'd want to be near this thing at a track. Probably why it's in storage now.
That looks like FUN!
Strap me in I'm going for a ride!
from the side veiw it looks like a 1/4 scale 62ish ford falcon
This reminds me of a Nash that i saw with a big block in it last summer at the drag strip. I peed a little just watching it fight it's way to the 1/8th mile.
That would be -almost- the most fun you could have with the last 6 seconds of your life. You should buy it.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Many old small sedans needed signifcant brake and suspension upgrades to be safe with more power, yet I cannot stop myself thinking about that little car with perhaps a nice compact but high powered rotary engine (of course I'd use a Mazda, but would call it an RO30 or something).
The world is probably better off for me never finishing my conversion of a Triumph Mayflower to race tune 2.2 TR-4 power.......
