I want to go to a 16x7 wheel on my '67 Volvo 122S but am having a hard time finding something that will work. The car has 15X6 slotted mags on it now but the tires are undersized so it doesn't look quite right to me. I thought about a 17x7 but I don't think the tire profile will fit properly and may be a bit too much without power steering.
IPD's wheel page states that a +33 to +37 wheel offset is the most common. The bolt pattern is 5x4.5 (114.3) so there should be a lot to choose from. However, the size of the wheel center is the kicker. The rear drum hub has a lip which requires an ~ 2.75" center hole on the rim.
I'd really like to find a set of steelies if possible but damn if most cars these days don't come with some fugly mag. Supposedly ford ranger and dodge charger wheels will work but I have had no luck finding any. I recently looked at a set of Camry wheels with the right offset but the center hole was too small.
Any ideas?
Starion/Conquest wheels are 16x7/16x8 staggered setup, the fronts are 18 offset and the rears are -10. I just got a set for my 740 to use with adapters, I will probably run the 16x7 all the way around. The center bore is 67.1mm which is about 2.6", could possibly be machined a bit to fit.
Or maybe some Torq Thrusts?

I saw that wagon when I was searching on Google images. Very nice look. I especially like the door frame mounted mirrors. I have considered Mustang Bullit wheels but the offset is all wrong.

If I recall correctly, Jeep Cherokee (and therefore early Grand Cherokee and tj wrangler) wheels are the right Bolt pattern for these. Perhaps something intended for one of those will get you what you are looking for. Between the oem junkyard stuff (up to 16") and aftermarket, there might be something.

Anything fits, we ran some $30 specials out of a summit catalog on our lemons car. We ran 14's though, that car doesn't need that big of a wheel. Just lower the car instead. This was seriously no issue at all.

Along with Cherokee, Wrangler wheels are a known fit.
Use a small wheel spacer that is just a hair thicker than the bore lip and you should be able to use whatever wheels you want.

This is similar to what came to my "mind" but Panasports
There are some Jeep Liberty six spoke wheels that look surprisingly good on anything other than a liberty. They look like Mercedes Evo wheels.

Either of those would work great.
I'm going to need a moment.
If XJ wheels fit, and XJ's came with gold mesh wheels....
I don't know much about these wheels but I love the steelie look - Corsa GT
They sell bolt-on spacers that fix the offset issue. We run a set of bolt-on spacers on our LeMons car and the only failure of them we've had was due to improper installation. Would not hesitate to run them on the street.
Fd rx7 wheels should fit.

Those are SN95 Mustang GT wheels, IIRC 17x8 and would require a 1" spacer. OE tire on them was 245/45 but you could go anywhere 225 - 275 depending on body and suspension clearance.
Wow, this thread got resurrected from 2012!

So what did you end up doing? Pictures get bonus points.
Sadly, nothing on the car yet. I've got a set of Jeep 15's and a set of Ford 17" steelies. I put a set of good tires on the slotted mags the car came with and have been driving on them.
