Why, thank you, sir.  Glad to be of service.  Check out Peabody's selections, too.

I like that La Yellow 357 song - thanks for linking.  Bonus points for the Allison Moyet sample from YAZ's Situation.  I see the La Yellow song comes from a mix that includes Chris Joss, who is maybe my favorite composer from the last 10-15 years.

My son, the one that gave me that Ari Borger album, is a big fan. If you haven’t listened to that Borger album yet you should

I haven't found the full album on Youtube, but the songs I have heard are indeed excellent.  Thanks for the tip!

Since we're talking about bass lines, this one is particularly entertaining starting about 45 seconds in.

Been playing an ass ton of Michael McDonald today. Unfortunately my co-workers are listening to my tone-deaf-ass belting a bunch of Doobie Brothers songs out.

My "relax" playlist, cause I'm frustrated with something I overlooked.

Was in the mood for some chill, modern Prog. This is about as good as it gets:

I'll listen to every note Steven Wilson ever plays. Even the long ambient stuff. What a talent.

Should be here. I don't normally like organ music but that album's a beaut

And while we're on the topic of bass lines.

I mentioned in the CD player thread that I recently boxed up all my CD's and took the to the shop.

I play something new every night and this is one of the first ones I pulled out of the box. Had completely forgotten about it.

It's relevant to this discussion.

The song goes thru a few changes so listening all the way thru is best

I come back to this guy now and then.  Jim Croce made some good stuff in a pretty short career.

Two guys, two guitars.

In Absentia is a good album, but I think maybe my favorite is Deadwing:

Steven Wilson's solo work is excellent, too.  Since he was the driving force behind Porcupine Tree, it sounds very similar.

After the carefully crafted abstraction of Porcupine Tree, I decided to roughen it up a little:

Eh, why not?

A few weeks before Christmas my neighbour called and said her kids were looking for a barn to do a little filming. I said no problem, let me know when and we can work it out. So during the week between Christmas and the  new year, I left it open for them while I went to work, I had no idea what they were doing, and only asked that they show me the end result.

Here it is.

Not my thing, obviously, but the kids are the two in coveralls. They appear to be quite talented, and I believe this is a promo vid for them

Please, no tranny swap questions cheeky

And now for what I'm actually listening to.

My son gave me this DVD for Christmas, which came with a soundtrack CD as well., So it's been on play in my shop for about a week. It's always nice to hear different versions of a song I've been listening to for many years. Especially when it's this good
