On the Friday and Saturday of the Classic Motorsports Mitty, GT Radial will host a test-drive experience at the Road Atlanta test track. Participants will get to sample three different tires from the brand: the extreme-performance Champiro SX2, the ultra-high- performance Champiro HPY, and the ultra-high-performance all-season Champiro UHPAS. All three models are aimed at the true driving enthusiast, and the Champiro SX2 is suitable for both road and track use.

The GT Radial test drive will take place on the Road Atlanta test track, which can be found toward Turns 7 and 8. The test drive is open to licensed drivers aged 18 and up, and there is no charge to participate. The GT Radial test drive will be up and running on April 24 and 25 at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia during the Speedfest at the Classic Motorsports Mitty presented by Hagerty.

Giti Tire Group, GT Radial’s parent company, is headquartered in Singapore and has been in the tire business since 1951. They are currently ranked 10th globally by Tyre Press.

Ran a set of the uhp's on my s197 did good with spirited mountain use but tore apart after one session on track. Good tires for street use for sure. I wouldn't mind trying the sx2's

This should be fun--and educational.

Maybe they want to be shaved for track use?

I saw the ad for the performance model in the last magazine, and I was wondering if they were any good. I thought they were just the cheapo brand that Discount Tire sells, but they looked pretty nice in the pic! I'm interested to hear people's feedback after this event.

I'm curious about the Champiro SX2, looking forward to a test of it vs. the tires we already like.

I see their tires on semis all day long and I've got to say I replace them the second most for sidewall blowouts; right behind sailuns.

In reply to iadr:

The VP1 is the only one for my car and at 420AB, I'll pass.

That said, on the subject of Chinese tire I have had good and bad. My used civic came with a new set of BCT S600's. The best I can say was it was a set of new matching tires. As far as grip it did fine for street use, but absolute E36 M3 for autoX(I only took it to 1). One was replaced after one summer due to a sidewall bubble, and the other 3 were bald before the end of the second.

The 1 with the sidewall bubble was replaced by a Hemisphere. I bought it on grounds of being the cheapest tire with a 2 ply sidewall. It is wearing well and didn't kill me being one no season on the back mixed with 3 good snows. That will become a full size spare and I'm planning on a new set of 4 once things melt.
