Bump for the evening crowd.
We've been to one of SCCA's Track Night in America events before. We're very excited for our next event.
Thursday, Thursday, Thursday! This Thursday our editor—and our BMW M235i project car—will be participating in the SCCA’s Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack. Looking for some track time that doesn’t eat into the weekend? This novice-friendly event may be the answer. We’ll be at South Florida’s Palm Beach International Raceway on May 14. The event starts at 4:00 p.m., and sounds like a certain GRM editor will be welcoming everyone to the track.
Bonus: Heading north afterwards? Let’s stop and grab group dinner on the way back up.
Super bonus: Sounds like I'll be the one getting the waivers signed. Know what that means? Yep, I get to carry a clipboard.
I'll be there in an ugly green Miata with a blue top, with my dad co-driving.
Anyone know if a spectator would need to pay the usual PBIR entrance fee?
Possibly up for dinner depending on when we get out of there. Plenty of options near highway in Jupiter, or a decent grill at Becker Road exit in PSL.
Soooo....had a great time at the event. Dad was in the novice group, which was very full, but better behaved than I would have expected given the relative lack of instruction and no instructors. I had lots of open track to myself in intermediate. Generally a low key fun track day.
Then my transmission blew up on the way home! I have some work to do before we can get out to the track again.
That was fun. Glad Dad had fun. Which cars were you guys in?
I posted some photos here, too: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153376243763140.1073741859.66381183139&type=1&l=29ab03e0ad
We were both in my Miata:
Between the two groups, didn't leave much time in the paddock for chit chat.
