Ever since Nissan revealed the Z Proto last year, we’ve been eager to learn what the production version will end up being like.

[What we know so far about the next Nissan Z-car]

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too much longer.

Nissan just announced that it will unveil the production version of the new Z-car August 17 of this year.

So mark your calendars, and let us know what emotions you are feeling about the new Z: Excited, anxious or maybe a little bit of both?

And what questions do you have about the new car? We might have an insider willing to share some details–after the embargo date, of course.

I'm excited to see the final specs, price, and design. I had a Z31 in high school and college 20+ years ago and owned a Z33 about 11 years ago.

The kicker for me will be is if the interior is still super cheap like it was in my Z33, even in an upper-trim level.

I hope they've been listening to feedback and checking out some of the fan renderings for improvements. It sounds like Nissan is trying to rekindle some lost magic and I'm rooting for them.

I also selfishly hope it creates even higher prices for 240zs. ;)

If nothing else, I appreciate that it's not a rebadged BMW. If it can undercut the Supra on price, that's icing on the cake.

Twin turbo V6 sounds fun and the current design is an improvement over the catfish-looking 370Z.  I also like the fact the website says "available with manual transmission" on pretty much every page/screen.  With that said, I'm guessing it'll be too expensive for me to consider for at least a fe more years.  Maybe they can do what the Supra did and have a lower-priced lower-power version?

What I really want to see is a production version of the 510 concept.

It never occurred to me and I learned this the other day watching this video.

John Morton won SCCA in 240Z's early but you couldn't buy a Z so Pete Brock moved to a car that Datsun had in the showrooms - win on Sunday, sell on Monday.   The Datsun 510.

If we can't buy the new Z maybe Nissan will have a cool sedan ready to release.   Ha ha ha ha - I'm funny.

Just in time for my latest midlife crisis!

But, eh, I'm pretty cheap so I'll probably end up with a basket case Porsche Boxster instead.

That doesn't sound cheap.

Assuming those are not 22" wheels, it's looking good.

If they did something like this or the IDX and it was ~ $25k or less, I'd be at the dealer tomorrow.

I'm cheap, so the $25k or less works.   Z-car will be more than I want to spend....

It blows my mind that it's taken them this long to replace the 370Z. The Q60 came out with a 400hp version of the VR30 5 years ago...
