These come with a lifetime warranty, right?
It’s not very often a championship-winning race car comes up for sale, let alone two at the same time. Call it a matched set.
FCP Euro, part supplier giant and now successful race team, is selling its #71 and #72 TCR-spec VW GTIs. Purchased in 2018, the cars originally competed in the 2018 Pirelli World Challenge in which both cars finished in the top 10. However, both VWs would eventually go on to race in the 2019 TC America Series, with No. 71 finishing first and No. 72 second overall.
Most recently, the cars were prepped for the 2020 TC America season, though only raced at the opening event at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Since then, both cars have “sat in climate-controlled storage.”
Mechanically, both GTIs are currently powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated for 250 horsepower and 302 lb.-ft. of torque that sent is sent to the front wheels through a Sadev racing sequential gearbox.
Weighing in at around 2580 pounds, both cars come well equipped with race car goodies like a fully adjustable suspension, “FIA Homologated” roll cage, air jacks and an OMP fire suppression system.
As far as mileage, car No. 71 is said to have 8611 kilometers (roughly 5350 miles) and car No. 72 is said to have 9057 kilometers (roughly 5627 miles).
